Important Reminders, Upcoming Events, and Celebrations
A Message from Principal Libert
Good afternoon, Mustangs!
Congratulations to our newest National Honor Society members on this outstanding achievement. We are also cheering on our football team as they head into the IHSA playoffs today and excited for the many students who took advantage of Thursday’s Career and Networking Fair to explore future opportunities and connect with professionals.
And, of course, we can’t forget our Halloween Hoopers, who brought plenty of energy and fun to the court today!
Looking ahead to next week, on Monday we will have lockdown and shelter in place drills. Then, Halloween is just around the corner, and we have a few festive activities planned. On Friday, October 30, students and staff are encouraged to join in the fun by wearing costumes to school. There will also be opportunities to trick-or-treat in the halls and vote for the best staff Halloween group photo.
As always, costumes must be school-appropriate, follow the building dress code, and not disrupt the learning environment. Please keep the following expectations in mind:
No full-face paint or masks that conceal a person’s identity. Students and staff must remain identifiable.
No weapons or look-alike weapons.
No fake blood or gore.
No costumes that disrespect or stereotype cultures, genders, races, religions, or other identities.
We’re looking forward to a fun and festive week while keeping MHS safe, welcoming, and respectful for everyone.
Have a great weekend, Mustangs!

Attendance Spotlight
A Direct Predictor of Graduation: Research shows that attendance in 9th grade predicts high school graduation better than 8th-grade test scores. A student who misses fewer than 5 days in 9th grade is significantly more likely to graduate on time than a peer with poor attendance.

Celebrations and Shoutouts
NHS Induction Ceremony
Congratulations to the newest members of the National Honor Society from Mundelein High School. The school held its induction ceremony Monday evening.
The National Honor Society enshrines four pillars at its heart: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. More than mere badges of honor for NHS members, these principles are transformative keys that unlock potential, enhancing every student’s educational journey, and ultimately empowering them to make profound, enduring contributions to our world.
Mundelein High School Career Expo & Networking Event
We had more than 50 professionals during the Mundelein High School Career Expo & Networking Event on Thursday to provide guidance, insight, and encouragement to our Mustangs who are looking to make the epic futures that await them a reality. The event included professionals from law enforcement, graphic design, technology, real estate, medicine, and more.
Thanks to all those who shared their information with students (included several MHS alumni). It was a day of community and connection.
Halloween Hoopers Score Big
Our Adapted PE students took on Warren High School today in our annual Supportive Learning Program basketball game. These kids only played basketball, but they led the crowd in singing the National Anthem and took part in some of the fun activities during breaks in the event.
