Message from the Principal
Dear Lakeridge Families:
As we kickoff the month of April, I want to take a moment to thank our students, parents and staff for all your hard work, collaboration and support on what has been a very successful first half of second semester. From strong family participation during parent conferences, to our school board visit showcasing the amazing talents of our art, band and vocal music students, to the impressive Mary Poppins performances by our Drama Club, March was full of student highlights and school pride. Again thank you for being such an important part of our school community. None of this would be possible without your continued partnership and support.
As we begin the fourth quarter, we are excited to carry on this positive energy. Another shining example of our student engagement at Lakeridge is the off the charts participation we are seeing in our after school programs. This spring, over 250 students, or about one in every three students, are involved in either football, flag football, volleyball, or cross country. In addition, our after-school clubs continue to thrive. These extracurricular activities give students even more opportunities to connect, explore their interests, and build relationships with their peers and caring adults. This level of involvement speaks directly to our commitment to creating a school where every student feels known, valued and supported.
On the academic front, third quarter grades will be finalized and available in Family Access early next week. These grades serve as an important checkpoint toward your child’s overall second semester performance. With just nine weeks remaining in the school year, this is a key time for students to reflect, set goals, and finish strong. During Advisory, students have been regularly monitoring their progress and thinking about their next steps in meeting their goals. We encourage you to ask your child to share their learning and goals with you.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teachers or counselor with any questions or concerns. Thank you again for your partnership. We truly appreciate all you do to support your child and our Lakeridge community.
With much appreciation,
Toby Udager
Principal

Parent Curriculum Review Night
Comprehensive Sexual Health & HIV/AIDS Prevention Curriculum
Washington State law requires that every student receives Comprehensive Sexual Health education, including HIV/AIDs prevention education, in grades 6 through 12. Because this unit covers sensitive topics, Washington State law and SBLSD board policy require that parents are provided the opportunity to preview these lessons and excuse their student from these lessons if they wish. The district is hosting a Curriculum Review Night to provide an opportunity for parents and guardians of students currently enrolled in the classes listed below to preview Comprehensive Sexual Health and HIV/AIDS prevention teaching materials and ask questions about the resources used in the classroom.

Tdap Immunization Requirement for Next Year’s 7th Graders
It will be here before you know it. Here is your reminder that 7th grade students are required to have a current Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) vaccination on file before the first day of school. If you choose not to have your student vaccinated, an exemption form must be completed and submitted to the school in place of immunization records.
Sincerely,
Vincene Holter
