Resetting Student Passwords-UPDATED
With the updates to Rapid Identity, we’ve updated the step-by-step directions for resetting student passwords while on campus.
Remember, student passwords need to be at least 8 characters in length, and should contain 3 of the 4 following criteria:
- Upper Case Letter
- Lower Case Letter
- Number
- Special Character (!@#$%^&*)
In addition to the password criteria, the password cannot have the student/user name or be similar to the previous password (which is not specified on the screen). This triggers the LDAP error.

Google Meet & Google Jamboard
Technology Services is working on the updates to Google Meet and the approval for Google Jamboard. There is not a timeline as to when every professional staff member and student will receive the updates, however our team will keep you updated as much as possible via email or the Smore newsletters. As updates happen please be aware that Google may slowly roll out their updates by campus and/or by professional staff. Thank you for your patience.
Registration is Open for the Aldine Film Festival Workshop
We are excited to announce that the Aldine ISD Film Festival is back better than ever. This year we will host our film workshops online to help both students and teachers gain skills and knowledge in film making. We are holding the first workshop on February 6th on the Aldine TV YouTube channel at 8:00 a.m. The live premiere will feature topics such as storyboarding, scriptwriting, equipment, production, directing, editing, and copyright.
During the live premiere, we will be announcing a workshop contest that will involve two to three items or sentences that will be required to be included in a video. The videos will be submitted for review and commentary by Tuesday, February 9th at 5:00 p.m. Participation in the contest will be required for the sponsor to receive CPE credit and to check out equipment for use in your Film Festival Production.
We are asking teachers to form a team of 3-4 students that are willing to commit to participating in the film festival and to attend the workshop. Students will learn how to create a screenplay, develop their scenes, film their scenes, and edit a film in this online workshop experience. Teachers, we are asking you to be a lead learner with your team and share the knowledge with your organization to deploy these skills. As sponsors, your responsibility will be to assist your young filmmakers with preparing and submitting their films before the deadline.

iFrame
With the ending of Adobe Flash, many of your favorite learning sites have become unusable as they have not updated.
As an alternative we have created this iFrame tutorial to show you how you can bring in online resources or websites directly into your Schoology courses. This gives you the option to either embed the resource into the material or bring it in as a link. The tutorial uses a math manipulative as an example but this would work on any other educational site!
Go to https://www.iframe-generator.com/ to get started!
Want to create iorads?
iorad identifies every action and automatically generates highlighted screenshots with step-by-step instructions.
Want to create iorads to use with your students? Reach out to your DLS and we can show you how!
Here is an iorad we created on how to attach your Google Drive into Schoology.
