Learning in Action is a new video series that takes you inside classrooms across the North Little Rock School District to show our incredible teachers and students in motion.

In this debut video, we visit Shalanda Howard’s kindergarten class at NLR 6 Academy of Agricultural & Veterinary Sciences as they jump into a hands-on science lesson: Egghead Plant Starters!

Watch our young scientists discover what seeds and plants need to grow—water, light, nutrients, and air. The class learned special movements and songs to remember how moisture and warm sunlight help their seeds germinate. Once their "eggheads" grow a full head of leafy hair, students will crush the shells to add calcium to the soil and plant them straight into the garden!
