A Note from Mr. Hamilton, Principal

Greetings Central Families,

This is a particularly exciting time of the school year. Now that fall benchmark testing has been completed, teachers are working hard to plan and deliver instruction that engages our learners and meets their specific needs. As referenced in the previous parent communication piece, increased emphasis is being placed on student strengths and interests, structuring meaningful learning opportunities, and providing an experience that is fun and interactive.

The parent/teacher conference window is now open as well. We look forward to having meaningful and individualized conversations about teaching and learning, goals for growth, and that which makes your child great. Parents and teachers coming together as a unit to best support kids, is powerful!

Lastly, as you partner with R-P in promoting and supporting the Rocket Way, here's the kid-friendly language we use for defining Respect, Pride, and Integrity:

Respect: Show others, objects, and self they matter

Pride: Satisfaction from achieving or belonging

Integrity: Doing what is right or expected

We are R-P!

Cordially,

Cody

PARENT PORTAL

If you haven't already done so, please login to your parent portal account and complete the demographic update ASAP. This is a requirement at the beginning of each school year. If you don't have a parent portal account set up yet, please do so. Once you get the account set up, you will need to complete the demographic update. This process allows you to update emergency contacts, review technology use guidelines and the handbook, and give consent for study trips for your student. If you are having troubles with username, password, or access codes, please call the office for assistance. Attached is a document with step by step instructions for completing the demographic update and linking siblings. Thank you for giving immediate attention to this matter.

A Message from the Foodservice Director

Menu Changes & Supply Chain Disruptions

I hear you and I share your frustrations regarding menu changes. Unfortunately, the changes are not due to my own decision, but rather an inability to obtain the product that is originally on the menu. We are experiencing extreme supply chain disruptions, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to get the items needed to follow the menu. I notify principals of any menu changes as soon as I am aware of them; please check weekly communications from your building for the most up to date information regarding the menu.

I wish I could say it's going to get better soon, but from everything I have been hearing and everything I have been experiencing, it may even get worse before it gets better. A few manufacturers just announced that they are suspending production of entire product lines until January 2022. I appreciate your understanding as I work through these challenges. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at burrowsc@reeths-puffer.org.

Thank you!
