Assistant Principal's Message

Dear CES Parents,

It is hard to believe we are already entering the month of March! As they say, March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. I'm ready for lamb like weather!

Our 2nd trimester ends March 6th. Report cards will be distributed to students on Thursday, March 13th. If you have any questions regarding your child's progress, please reach out to their teacher. They would be happy to answer any questions you have.

Please mark your calendars, on Monday, May 11th there will be NO SCHOOL for Pre K or Kindergarten. We will be using this day to register incoming kindergarten students for our 2026-2027 school year. We will see our pre k and kindergarten students on Tuesday, May 12th during our normal scheduled school hours.

There's also no school Thursday, March 19th and Friday, March 20th. They are Teacher/Staff Workshop Days.

March is a big month of growth for students. We look forward to seeing each and every one of your children each day, rested and ready to learn. Spring is going to go fast!

Take care,

Erin Madore

Assistant Principal

Mrs. Bellerose recognized Peyton in 1st grade for walking the most miles in our 100 mile club. Peyton has walked 40 miles this school year!

Great job Peyton!

March's Core Value of the Month

Each month Canaan Elementary students learn about a core value. These core values are essential for building good character and all point back to the BIG 3 - Treating others right, making smart decisions, and maximizing your potential. March's Core Value is Humility. Humility is putting others first by giving up what you think you deserve.

Students will earn cougar slips if seen showing Humility and any of our previous studied core values. Each month, we will draw one cougar slip and that student's classroom will win an extra recess! Teachers also pick 2 students each month to be the Core Value Student of the Month. These students will receive a certificate, a medal, and be invited to a pizza party with Mrs. Madore.

Play and Learn!

Our first Play and Learn in February was a big success! We welcomed 11 kiddos for a fun-filled, construction-themed hour packed with hands-on learning and play. Children enjoyed a read-aloud, explored puzzles and cars, and got creative making construction hats and pictures. We wrapped up our time together with a goodbye song and a snack. It was such a special morning of learning, laughter, and community!

We hoped to see more children ages 0-5 on Saturday, March 21st from 10-11 am for our next Play and Learn.
