An Author's Workspace
There are a few things about my workspace that might surprise you, and some that are uniquely me. You see, I'm an "ever-moving" person. The idea of sitting in one spot for hours on end to write? That's just not me – though when the flow is really happening, it absolutely cannot be stopped!
Because I'm constantly switching positions and areas, my secret weapon is a portable desk. I pair that with a computer stand so I'm always comfortable and not straining. And I can never work without two drinks: a water and something with flavor, whether it's an orange juice, a Dr. Pepper, or something else. Occasionally, I am working so hard that I forget to eat. Luckily, I have caring people around, like my favorite boys (hubby and kids 😉), who are great at reminding me to eat. If I don't' get up to do it, they bring me snacks as I write.
Wherever I am writing, finding a comfortable, quiet spot is imperative, but I also always need someone to share my musings with. Then comes editing, which is always where I'm humbled! I'm an expressive and dramatic person by nature, and sometimes I need to rein that back a bit. For all that help, I have to thank Victoria Sheeley, author of "The Time Traveling Chronicles" series.
So much goes into the inner workings of being an author, especially an indie author like myself. I'm truly thankful for everyone who helps me and for this incredible experience. Well, there's a little "behind the curtains" peek for you! Thanks for reading.
