"Inspiring Every Student, Through Every Experience, Every Day!" "Inspiring Every Student, Through Every Experience, Every Day!"

Welcome to February, Families!

Welcome to February! It may be the shortest month of the year, but we have packed it full of learning and excitement.

❄️ Fingers Crossed for Warmer Weather We are all hoping the groundhog brings us good news! We are keeping our fingers crossed for slightly warmer temperatures so we can get back outside for recess. The students (and teachers!) are definitely ready for some fresh air and time to run around.

💯 The 100th Day of School Can you believe it? We are approaching the 100th Day of School on February 10, 2026. This is always a huge milestone for our students as we celebrate 100 days of learning, growing, and making friends.

🧮 Math 24 Competition Our 4th and 5th graders are hard at work with Mrs. Meinhardt preparing for the Math 24 competition later this month. Students are working in small groups to master number flexibility and pattern recognition. Good luck to our mathletes!

🐢 Miss Kim’s Amazing Animals We are thrilled to welcome Miss Kim’s Amazing Animals on February 13. This program is a favorite among students and provides a wonderful, hands-on opportunity to learn about different species and their habitats.

🧑🏻‍💻 A new resource for our 4th and 5th grade teachers is a thing called Blocksi. This is a Web Filter and screening teachers can help monitor students while using their Chromebooks in class. Some of the features are teachers can monitor a live feed of student laptop screens, close tabs on devices if students are not on what they should be on and push out information to the students. The middle school and high school have already been using this but our 4th and 5th grade are just getting started.

Math 24 Fever is Here! Math 24 Fever is Here!

Our 4th and 5th graders are hard at work crunching numbers! We are excited to announce that students are currently preparing for the Math 24 Competition coming up later in February.

Students are meeting with Mrs. Meinhardt two days a week, working in small teams of two or three. They aren’t just doing arithmetic; they are learning to see number patterns, building "flexibility" with numbers, and constructing multi-step equations where the final result must always equal 24..

Stay tuned for more specific dates and details as we get closer to the competition!

You may hear your students talking about some exciting changes in the lunchroom! We have recently refreshed the space with a new paint job and added colored table spots to help with seating organization and personal space.

New Technology for a Calmer Lunch!! We have also installed a new TV monitor that will connected to a computer. This isn't just for entertainment—it serves an important purpose.

  • Volume Control: The screen projects sound monitoring visuals. These graphics react to noise, giving students real-time feedback to help them maintain a Level 1 (Whisper/Quiet) voice level.

  • Atmosphere: We will use the screen to play quiet, calming music while students eat.

  • Learning: On occasion, the screen will be used to view educational programs.

We are excited to use these tools to create a more relaxing dining environment for everyone!
