Jaguar Team THIS IS THE WEEK! 🐆

This is the week we have all been planning, preparing, and working so hard for. Our scholars come back on Tuesday! This is what all of the long days, preparation, practice, and teamwork have been leading up to.

As we welcome our Jaguars back, we want them to experience a week filled with JOY, FUN, LOVE, and EXCITEMENT, while also immediately setting the vision for the HIGH EXPECTATIONS we have at IDEA Judson Academy.

This week is about building our foundation. I truly believe that when we maximize CULTURE, we maximize INSTRUCTION when it matters most. If we take the time now to teach expectations, practice routines, and build strong habits, we will protect valuable instructional time for the rest of the year.

So this week PRACTICE. PRACTICE. PRACTICE. Practice transitions, hallway expectations, classroom routines, getting materials, lunch procedures, and what excellent learning looks and sounds like. If it isn't right the first time, reset and practice again. Practice until excellence becomes the habit.

Your patience WILL be tested this week. Our scholars are learning new teachers, new routines, and new expectations. You may have to repeat yourself 100 times and that's okay! Stay strong. Stay consistent. Stay loving. Hold the line. Don't lower the expectation because it gets difficult.

We will also have National and Regional teams on our campus, but don't let that make you nervous. We know what to do. If we demonstrate strong, tight culture, follow our curriculum with fidelity, and execute the systems we have practiced, our work will speak for itself.

And when those teams walk through our doors, I want us to SHOW THEM WHY JUDSON IS #1!

Not just because of a ranking. Not just because of our academic results. But because of the way we love our scholars, the expectations we hold, the joy in our classrooms, the strength of our instruction, and the way this team shows up for one another every single day.

We have already shown what Judson can accomplish academically. Now let's show that same excellence in our CULTURE. But above everything else, don't do it for the visitors.

DO IT FOR OUR SCHOLARS.

Every routine we teach, every expectation we hold, every relationship we build, and every moment of patience this week is creating the school experience our Jaguars deserve. I believe in this team. I believe in what we have built. And I know what happens when ONE JUDSON moves together.

Hello! My name is Mrs. De La Paz,

This is my 19th year in education and my 13th year with IDEA Public Schools. I am also beginning my third year at Judson Academy, and I truly feel blessed to be part of such an amazing campus community. What makes Judson Academy so special is the passion and dedication every staff member has for our scholars. Together, we are committed to helping each child succeed not only academically but also grow into confident, compassionate, and well-rounded individuals.

I am the proud mother of my son, Crispin Nathaniel, and our Goldendoodle fur-baby, Tobi. In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, reading a good book, putting puzzles together, and getting as many ZZZs as I can!

I graduated from Angelo State University—Go Rams! As the first college graduate in my family, I understand the power of education and the opportunities it can create. That experience continues to inspire my commitment to encouraging every scholar to believe in themselves, work hard, and pursue their dreams. I look forward to another wonderful year of learning, growth, and celebration alongside our scholars, families, and staff!

Hello, my name is Ms. Angelisa Box-Marrero. I am one of the Co-Teachers in our Academy Rise classroom. A little about me, I’m a U.S Army veteran. I served one contract and did one rotation in Germany. During my time in service I had my beautiful son Jonathan, who is now 4 yrs old and will be a future JAG next year. I had an absolute privilege serving my country and would do it again. After getting out of the military, I started my career in Behavioral Health. I became a Registered Behavioral Technician specializing in ABA therapy. After 4 years of helping so many kiddos, I knew I was ready for a change. I chose to take my chance and apply here at Judson academy. I was jumping for joy when I got the call and was offered my position in the RISE classroom. Within my first year of teaching, our scholars have excelled beyond my expectations. Coming into my second year as a teacher, I am so excited to see all that we will accomplish this school year!

This week, everyone must begin awarding PBIS points consistently throughout the day. Remember, our goal is 100 points per class, per week!

PBIS is about more than points it’s about celebrating positive choices and building the joyful, strong culture our Jaguars deserve.

As we kick off the year, please remember:

• Exams should follow the 90/60/30 format.
• Our daily Exit Ticket goal is 90% scholar mastery.
• Beginning Week 2, data should be entered daily into the tracker, including misconceptions and solutions/action steps.
• Please review the Testing Corner BOY DIBELS is quickly approaching!

Monday- 8/10- Jeans Day arrival time is 7AM. You will have work time from 7-8AM!

Tuesday-8/11- FDOS!!! Arrival time for all staff is 6:45. All hands in deck for arrival and dismissal- WE will have a beginning of day huddle and end of day huddle! Staff will eat with scholar ALL WEEK! Lesson Plans are DUE!! If you have not submitted your UNIT 1 it is NOW PAST DUE

Wednesday- 8/12- Arrival time is 6:45. All hands in deck for arrival and dismissal- WE will have a beginning of day huddle and end of day huddle! Staff will eat with scholar ALL WEEK!

9/1- Our 1st ADA incentive celebration. Lead Team will have coffee with parents for feedback and any concerns at 8AM and it is a PD day!

9/3- Lesson plan and culture clinics 4:45-5:45

9/4- Victory Lap and Picture Day!

9/7- Labor Day NO SCHOOL!!!
