Celebrations
Freshman Jump Start
Freshman Jumpstart was a day dedicated to welcoming our newest Marauders to the Mitchell community. Students connected with peers, met staff, and explored campus life—building a strong start to their high school journey. Here are some highlights from the day!
Message from Mr. Smith
Thank you, Mitchell Families, for your invaluable partnership and cooperation in making the 2025-26 school year's first week a resounding success. The 9th Grade Jump Start on August 12 was a significant day for our 9th-grade students, allowing them to meet our staff and learn about the school's culture, expectations, and procedures. The rest of the week was equally important, allowing all grade levels to transition from the summer break to the school routine.
As we head into week two, a critical focus will be on the fall STAR benchmark English and Math testing. The benchmark window is August 19 to August 22. Benchmark assessments are used in education to evaluate student progress and performance toward grade-level learning goals. The goal at Mitchell High School is to have all students perform proficiently at their designated grade level. I am asking students, teachers, and parents/guardians to work together to ensure a high participation rate and demonstrate a high effort to obtain accurate data that will be used to drive instructional planning as we work toward higher levels of academic growth and achievement.
On Tuesday, August 19, Open House/Back to School Night will be held at Mitchell High School from 5 to 6:30 PM. We will begin the event in the auditorium, where families will receive a general overview of school processes and procedures. Parents and guardians will also have an opportunity to visit classrooms and teachers, providing the opportunity to put faces with names, ask questions, and exchange contact information. Parents and guardians are encouraged to join us for Open House/Back to School Night 2025.
Mitchell High School is getting WINS. Go Marauders!
-Mr. Smith

Schedule Change Requests
Student Schedules are ready to view in PowerSchool!
Schedules change requests can be made for the first two weeks of school. The last day to make changes to schedules is Wednesday, August 27, 2024. Changes will only be made to meet the graduation requirements. For example, you are enrolled in a class that you have already taken and passed. OR you are a senior and need a math credit, but you do not have a math class on your schedule.
Schedules will NOT be changed for reasons such as: you want to be in a different section because that is where your friends are. OR you don't like the elective you were given.
If you need to make a change to your schedule, please make an appointment with your counselor. All appointments are confirmed through your email.
