Dear Dewey Middle School Families,

The 2026-2027 school year is quickly approaching! As we all prepare for the new school year, I wanted to share some information to help you prepare for the year.

Important Dates

• New Student Enrollment-This is for students who DID NOT attend Dewey last year: Tuesday, July 28, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM & 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
• Schedule Pick-Up: Tuesday, August 4, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
• First Day of School: Wednesday, August 12, 8:15 AM

Athletics

All middle school sports teams (boys and girls) will practice during first hour. A completed physical form is mandatory before participating in any team activity. You can download the necessary medical clearance documents directly from the Dewey Athletics Page.

Proof of Residency Requirements
To complete enrollment, you must provide a valid verification of residence showing a physical street address or rural route. P.O. Box addresses are strictly prohibited. Acceptable documentation must include the parent or legal guardian's name and include one of the following items:

• A current city utility bill (such as water, electric, or gas)
• A formal residential rental or lease agreement

Immunization Requirements
All attending students must provide up-to-date medical documentation. New students must supply current immunization records or a signed State Authorized Exemption Certificate at enrollment. In accordance with Oklahoma state law, all incoming 7th-grade students are strictly required to have a documented Tdap booster shot prior to the start of classes. Classroom supply requirements vary by grade level. The complete inventory can be found at the link below or on the Dewey ISD 7 School Supply Lists Page.

Students may only bring plastic water bottles equipped with secure, spill-proof lids. Metal cups, metal thermoses, glass containers, disposable cups, and aluminum cans are not allowed. Filtered water bottle refilling stations are available in every building and gym.
