PRINCIPAL'S CORNER
Good Morning, Resurrection Families,
In 2007, after my mother passed away, my sister and I were going through old family documents and came across a few papers that truly stayed with me. We found a rent receipt from 1961 for the apartment where we lived — $50 a month. We also found one of my father’s pay stubs; his annual salary was less than $10,000 a year.
Among those papers was something that struck me even more deeply — a receipt for the Catholic school my sister and I attended. The tuition for both of us for the entire school year was $300.
My father was the sole provider for our family; my mother stayed home to care for us. We had everything we needed — food, clothing, and toys — but what stands out most to me now is the priority my parents placed on Catholic education. They sacrificed so we could attend Catholic school, and at the time, I did not fully understand what that meant. Today, I am in awe of their commitment and grateful for the values they instilled in my sister and I.
I share this story because I recognize the same sacrifice in you. I know the commitment you make to send your children to Resurrection Catholic School. I know that choosing Catholic education requires dedication, planning, and at times, personal sacrifice. Please know that your commitment does not go unnoticed.
Together, as parents and educators, we share the same mission: to form young people of character, honesty, respect, and deep faith. That shared sacrifice and shared purpose unite us as one school community.
Thank you for entrusting us with your children. Thank you for choosing Resurrection Catholic School. And thank you for the sacrifices you make each day to provide your children with a Catholic education.
God bless,
John W. Keeley
