There are a variety of tasks in this project and we hope to involve as many students as possible with assignments ranging from sandwich making, to making flatware bundles, to packing boxes for delivery.
To support this project, we are looking for donations. These donations can be “in kind” or cash. Please see the link to the sign up genius below if you wish to make a donation:

Spring Musical - Beetlejuice, Jr.
We are so excited that this year's MS Musical, Beetlejuice Jr. will be Friday, April 11th at 7:00 pm and Saturday, April 12th at 7:00pm. Tickets are $8 for adults, and $5 for students. (Doors open at 6:30pm). This is open to the general public.
The cast and crew have been working so hard and have put together a show we are all really proud of. We hope to see you there!
State Testing
We are entering the season for standardized testing. When we return from spring break, the 8th graders will be completing the science testing during the week of April 28. During the week of May 19 both grades will be completing math and English Language Arts testing. During those days the school will follow modified schedules to allow time for students to complete the testing and see their classes. Most notably, the students who begin the day in the high school will report directly to the middle school on the days of testing.

Pictures from the Week
Here are the NB3 honorees for the week. Thanks for being Ready, Respectful, and Responsible.
We are recognizing our students from military families all this month. Here are some of our military connected students at an event this week.
Some of the cast from this week's spring musical. Come out to see the show Friday or Saturday.
Day of Silence
The middle school GSA will be holding their annual Day of Silence event during school on Monday, April 14th. The Day of Silence is a national student-led event that happens in April of every year. Students who voluntarily choose to participate remain silent for the day to raise awareness of the harassment and bullying that LGBTQ+ students face in schools across the country and the world. The event is for students only. Those who wish to participate should have already signed up based on the directions in the announcements this past week.
Dental Hygiene Kits
The MS has received free Oral Health Kits for our students from the NJ Children's Oral Health Program as a thank you for participating in the Basic Dental Screening Program.
Each kit contains a toothbrush with travel cover, toothpaste and floss.
Students can stop by the nurse to pick one up until April 15th. After that date, the remaining kits will be donated.April is Month of the Military Child
April is dandy because it is Month of the Military Child.
The dandelion is a symbol used to represent the resilience and adaptability of military children who, like dandelion seeds, are often uprooted and replanted across the world, yet thrive wherever they land. Purple is the color for Month of the Military Child, because it is a combination of all of the colors that represent the U.S Military forces blended together.
In honor of the Month of the Military Child at NB our morning announcements will be led by our Military Students. We will have a special get together for our Military Students on Thursday, April 10th to celebrate their adaptability, unique experiences, and resilience. NB is excited to Purple Up every Thursday throughout the month, and we will also have a school wide Purple Up Duck Hunt on Thursdays for all NB students.
Construction at the High School
After spring break the high school is going to begin construction work on the auditorium. There may be construction traffic that interferes with the regular traffic flow. Please plan accordingly and be sure to allot extra time to arrive at school for parents who are dropping their children off to school.
Band Booster Band Bingo
The Northern Burlington Band Booster Club is hosting a bag bingo on May 3 at 5 pm, at the middle school. If you are interested, please see this FLIER for more information.

Clinical Corner
Laughter induces physical changes in your body. Short term benefits include:
Stimulate organs-laughter enhances your intake of oxygen which stimulates organs and releases endorphins.
Activate and relieve your stress response-Laughter fires up and then cools down your stress response which can give you a nice relaxed feeling.
Soothe tension-Laughter can stimulate circulation and muscle relaxation which can help alleviate stress symptoms.
The article promotes laughter for the long haul. Here are some of the long term benefits:
Improves your immune system-it reports that negative thoughts can decrease your immunity but on the contrary, positive thoughts and laughter can help prevent stress and more serious illnesses.
Relieve pain-Laughter actually causes your body to release its own natural painkillers
Increase personal satisfaction-Laughter can help you cope better and connect/bond with others.
Improve your mood-Laughter can help decrease anxiety and depression, make you happier and improve your self-esteem.
How do you bring more laughter into your life? You can try to be around people who make you laugh, or put memories in your office or bedroom that make you chuckle when you remember them. Social media is good for funny memes or videos or you can peruse an old fashioned joke book. Lastly, laughter yoga has been around for a while, and while it may seem forced at first, it can turn into spontaneous laughter.
So give laughter a try-especially if it has the power and potential to do all these good things! Might be a good day for a fun joke or prank! For the complete article, click here.Relay for Life
