"TO BE YOURSELF IN A WORLD THAT IS CONSTANTLY TRYING TO MAKE YOU SOMETHING ELSE IS THE GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT.”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
It’s been a wet yet productive week in Coronado!
The Islander Girls Water Polo team has found success in the water, battling through their CIF playoff bracket to take on Francis Parker for the Championship in the D2 Finals tomorrow (Saturday) at 1pm at the Coggan pool at LJHS. Good luck Lady Islanders!
The CoSA 30th anniversary celebration continues at the Coronado Historical Association Museum. Don’t miss the wonderful exhibit, Three Decades of Artistry, on display now through March 8th. The exhibit features a curated selection of rare archival treasures and iconic physical artifacts, including the stunning "Queen of Hearts" costume from the Theatre Production, Design, and Management conservatory, award-winning student film reels and animations from the Digital Arts conservatory, a digital catalog showcasing over 100 masterpieces from three decades of Visual Arts students, and historical milestones, from the first instrumental recital to the $25 million opening of the Coronado Performing Arts Center. Find all the info here.
Have a great weekend!

Ed Tech Parent Series
SDCOE is excited to announce the upcoming Educational Technology Parent Series, a free virtual learning opportunity open to all parents and educators across our region. This series is designed to support families and school communities in navigating educational technology and resources that empower student success.
As our educators, parents, and community come together to connect, challenge, and champion our students, we are humbled by the outpouring of compliments. What a positive testament to our CUSD family!
- Jenny Moore: Strand is so lucky to have someone like Jenny Moore. She greets everyone everyday with a smile. She truly cares and shows concern and understanding for everyone. She gets genuinely excited about improvements to curriculum and new ideas to implement at the school. She is always helpful and kind. We have been lucky enough to have her as our kid's principal since 2021. She is a team player and is always looking out for the kids and staff. She really goes above and beyond to make people feel welcome and understood. We adore her, and are so happy she is the principal. Thank you for all you do Jenny!
Click here to recognize an employee or volunteer who goes above and beyond to make a difference. Those who are "caught" will receive a copy of the positive words that were shared about them and a "Caught Being Awesome" decal. Please take a minute or two to brighten someone else's day!
