Principals Message
It's hard to believe that it is almost September! We are off to a strong start this school year, and I want to thank you for your continued support in helping our students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. September will be filled with exciting opportunities for our students to showcase leadership, engage in learning, and build our school community. Teachers have been working exceptionally hard to build capacity while actively monitoring the data to see where we can fill gaps. With that being said, we set some goals to ensure that students are learning at high levels. We need the support of our community to ensure that these goals are met.
Together, let’s make this month one where our students soar—the Eagle Way!
VVLA Goals
VVLA’s ELA results on the 2025-2026 AASA will have a minimum of 50% of students or higher scoring at Proficient or Highly Proficient and a maximum of 35% or less scoring at minimally Proficient

Student Habit of the Month: Habit 1 – Be Proactive
-
Student Focus: Take responsibility for your actions, choices, and learning. Don’t wait for others to tell you what to do—make good decisions on your own.
-
Challenge: Each day, think of one way you can show responsibility (completing homework, helping a peer, being ready to learn).
Parent Habit of the Month: Habit 2 – Begin with the End in Mind
-
Parent Focus: Talk with your child about their goals for the year. Help them picture success and make a simple plan to get there.
-
Family Activity: Create a family “mission statement” together—something short and meaningful that represents your values and vision.
Eagles Fly in the Season
The Eagles officially opened their fall sports season with an action-packed night against the Greenfield Cougars. The girls’ volleyball squad battled hard in a scrappy contest but ultimately came up just short. The boys, however, flipped the script—dominating Greenfield in commanding fashion. After cruising through the first set, the Eagles’ starters watched from the sideline for most of the second as their teammates closed out a decisive two-set victory.
The energy doesn’t stop there. Both volleyball teams, along with our flag football squad, are set to defend the Nest on September 4th when they take on Julian. Mark your calendars and come pack the stands—it’s going to be a big night for Eagle Nation!
August IXL Achievement
Congrats to 5th Grade for Surpassing the goal of weekly proficiency
EAGLE BUCKS
Students now have an opportunity to earn EAGLE Bucks. What are EAGLE BUCKS you say? EAGLE BUCKS are a form of currency that we use at Valley View to celebrate our leaders on campus that exhibit one of the eight habits. Students can save those bucks, or choose to spend them at the Eagle Store Friday during students designated lunch times.
