Principal's Message
Happy Friday DKMS Families!!! We finally got through our first full 5 day week of school! We have lots of great things going on in the middle school...
This was Kindness and Spirit week. Mrs. Collins did a phenomenal job setting up daily kindness challenges for our students, as well as picking the Spirit Day themes. I must say there is nothing better than wearing a Hawaiian shirt, swim trunks, and slides with no socks in the middle of winter for beach day! I truly appreciated our building's kindness and spirit this week.
Next Friday (February 9th) will be a busy day in our building:
- It will be HAT DAY. Students can pay $1 to buy a wrist band which allows them to wear a hat or hood all day. Each time we have a hat day, students need to purchase a new wrist band. Students can purchase the wrist band during breakfast in their morning area.
- During lunch students will be able to purchase Valentine candy grams (heart suckers) for $0.50. These Valentine candy grams will be delivered to students on Valentine's Day (Wednesday 2/14).
- We will have our middle school talent show in the gym, starting at 1:30 pm. Parents are invited to come see their child perform.
In our sports update, please keep an eye out for calendar changes/additions for athletic events. With all of our snow days and shortage of referees some events are being rescheduled, while others are being cancelled. We will get updates out to you as soon as we know about them.
We are still in the middle of NWEA testing. Please make sure your child is coming to school on a regular basis, is getting enough sleep, and is eating breakfast and lunch. All of these things will help your child succeed on the NWEA assessment and will help them do well in their classes.
As always, I am truly amazed at all the great things our staff, students, district, and community do each and everyday to help make DKMS a great place for our students. As they say, it takes a village and I believe Delton continues to show great support for our school and our district. Thank you for all that you do!
GO PANTHERS!!!
Thank you,
Bobby TillmanPrincipal

Kindness and Spirit Week
Students have participated all week in Kindness events. They have created thank you notes and provided words of encouragement to their friends and staff. Students painted posters throughout the halls displaying ways to be kind. They even showed their Delton Kellogg Spirit by getting temporary tattoos. Below, the kids are showing their spirt
