Hello Graham Families!

We had another great week here at Graham!

This week, we celebrated our very first SURPRISE Attendance Day, and it was a HUGE hit! All students who were at school on Thursday were treated to a special CIRCUS assembly, and it was absolutely amazing! I think the adults enjoyed it just as much as the kids did!

We will be having a Surprise Attendance Day every month as a fun way to encourage students to come to school each and every day. The best part? You never know when it might happen! We know that every school day matters, and we want to celebrate our students for showing up and being ready to learn. You never know what fun surprise might be waiting for you!

I also wanted to remind our families about our Graham Care Closet! Our Care Closet is in full swing, and we have a great selection of gently used clothing available for students who may need something. Throughout the school day, we often use these items when a student has a big spill at lunch, has an accident, or simply needs a change of clothes.

However, our Care Closet is also here to support our Graham families! If your child is in need of clothing, please don't hesitate to reach out. We would be more than happy to help you look through our bins and find items that might be useful.

Our candy collection is going great! Our goal is to have at least 80,000 pieces of candy for our Trunk or Treat. We still have lots of time to send in more bags.

Ms. Rosenberry's class takes the lead! We have one more count day on TUESDAY next week before the Trunk or Treat on Wednesday. Thank you so much for all of the donations. We have 56,086 pieces of candy so far!!!

Affirmations: Our students and staff have been giving each other affirmations throughout the week. These are just nice little notes, or a message over announcements that you can give to someone for doing something nice for you or to thank them for something that they do. Our students and staff love giving these and receiving them too!

We have started making calls to those families that have students with three or more absences. We want to be sure that there is a solid plan in place for getting your child to school and on time every day. We will also be sending home a packet of information about the importance of being in school every day as well as another attendance tracker and a success plan.

If you need help with getting your child to school everyday, we will be happy to meet with you! Please reach out to myself or our attendance secretary Ms. Kearney at kearneye@wwcsd.net

Snack cart will be available every TUESDAY and FRIDAY during all lunch periods. The 5th grade students run this to support their CAMP FUNDS. Young 5 and Kindergarten students get the SNACK CART in the morning instead of at lunch time.

There are some days when the menu could possibly change due to food items not being available. We will let the students know if there are changes as soon as we find out.

PLEASE fill out a background check if you plan to volunteer at ALL this year in your child's classroom or on a field trip. THIS MUST BE DONE EVERY YEAR!!!! We cannot accept background checks from LAST school year.
