Welcome Back, Explorers! 💚💙

We are so excited to welcome our students and families back to Liberty Creek! We have had a wonderful soft start with our 1st and 2nd graders, and today we officially welcomed our youngest Explorers, our preschoolers and kindergarteners!

Over the past few days, our focus has been on building routines, creating strong classroom communities, making connections, and teaching our school-wide expectations throughout the building. Our students are already doing an amazing job learning what it means to be a Liberty Creek Explorer!

We are excited for the year ahead and grateful to have our students filling our classrooms, hallways, and playground once again. It is going to be a great year at Liberty Creek!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Alsaker

A huge thank you to Clark Law for generously sponsoring our staff and student shirts this year! Your support helped bring our Get in the Game…Every Player Counts theme to life and made it possible for every student and staff member to feel like part of the team. We are incredibly grateful for your investment in our Explorers and our Liberty Creek community!

We would also like to give a special shout-out to Boards By Brit for absolutely spoiling our staff with an amazing charcuterie board! It was such a thoughtful and delicious way to kick off the school year and made our staff feel so appreciated.

We are so fortunate to have community partners who support and celebrate our school!

Aug. 24th-Sept. 11th: Active 4 Youth: Registration (1st & 2nd grade ONLY) Aug. 24th-Sept. 11th: Active 4 Youth: Registration (1st & 2nd grade ONLY)

Practice Schedule
📅 Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays
⏰ 8:00–8:45 AM
🏃 First Practice: September 14 at 8:00 AM

We know our morning practice schedule is different from Liberty Lake Elementary. We chose mornings for two main reasons: coach availability and what we have learned about our youngest runners. Our students tend to have more stamina in the morning when they are rested and ready to move! Starting their day with exercise also gives them an opportunity to get some energy out, connect with others, and come into the classroom ready to learn.

Students participating in morning practices will line up and enter through the playground gates.

Ready to Run?

Please use the registration link or QR code to register your child.
Registration closes September 11.

Sept. 3rd: Late Start Begins Sept. 3rd: Late Start Begins

Beginning September 3, our staff will begin weekly Professional Learning Community (PLC) collaboration time. On Thursdays, the playground will open at 9:45 AM and school will begin at 9:55 AM.

During PLCs, teachers work together as grade-level teams to focus on one goal: high levels of learning for every student. Teachers review student learning, share strategies, and plan instruction, interventions, and extensions based on what students need.

Why does this matter for your child?

PLCs mean your child benefits from the knowledge and expertise of an entire team of teachers—not just one classroom teacher. This collaboration helps us provide consistent, high-quality instruction while making sure students receive the right support or challenge at the right time.

We appreciate your partnership as we continue working together to help every Explorer learn and grow!

We are incredibly lucky to live in such an amazing community! Travis Scott, one of our Liberty Creek parents, has organized a Bike Bus for families in the Rocky Hill area.

So, what is a Bike Bus? Think of it like a school bus—but on bikes! Students and adults meet at designated locations and ride to school together as a group. It is a fun way for students to connect with friends, enjoy some fresh air, and get their bodies moving before the school day begins. Physical activity before school can also support students’ attention and learning.

Click on the link for more information, including the route and how your family can participate!

Please note: The Liberty Creek Bike Bus is a parent/community-organized activity and is not a Central Valley School District-sponsored event.

September 9th: Evacuation Drill (fire drill) September 9th: Evacuation Drill (fire drill)

We will have our first evacuation drill of the school year. Our teachers do a wonderful job preparing students ahead of time by explaining what to expect, how to stay safe, and why it is important that we practice. These drills help our students and staff know exactly what to do in the event of an emergency and are an important part of keeping everyone at Liberty Creek safe.

We will continue with our Art Club, which provides an after-school chance for 1st and 2nd graders to learn about and explore the arts! Our first session will be Wednesday, September 23rd from 3:15-4:30 PM in the Art and Community Room.

Since Art Club begins immediately after the school day, students attending will go straight to the community room. Should you wish to pack your child a snack, they will have a few minutes to eat before beginning the art lesson. Please arrange personal transportation for pick-up at 4:30 PM.

We will be sending out a signup link one week prior to each art session. Please note we have capacity for 20 students.

School Volunteers School Volunteers

We Love Our Volunteers! 💚

Volunteers help make Liberty Creek Elementary a warm, welcoming, and exciting place to learn! Your time and energy make a huge difference for our students.

Please note that volunteer approvals were previously valid for two years. Beginning this school year, volunteer status must be updated and approved each year. If you plan to volunteer at school, attend a classroom party, chaperone a field trip, or participate in another volunteer opportunity, please complete the annual volunteer approval process ahead of time.

To help keep everyone safe, all volunteers must be district-approved before volunteering.

📌 Ready to volunteer? Visit CVSD Volunteer Application to get started.

Have questions? Call 558-5400 or email volunteer@cvsd.org.

Thank you for helping make Liberty Creek Elementary such a special place for our Explorers! 🌟

Community Eligibility Services Community Eligibility Services

We NEED your help!

Why did my child’s school send home a survey about my income and household?

It’s important for all families to complete the CNEEB (Child Nutrition Eligibility & Education Benefit) application and return it to school. This survey helps the school district maintain Title 1 benefits from the federal government, which are used for educational programs, services and benefits for students.

What happens if I choose not to fill out the CNEEB Application?

If a household does not complete the application, the delivery of programs and services in your child’s school may be impacted. Therefore, it is very important that every household accurately completes the application. It's more than a meal... it's about gaining benefits for your child, their friends, teacher, school and community!

Explorers are: Safe, Responsible, and Kind! Explorers are: Safe, Responsible, and Kind!

We are excited to launch our updated PBIS expectations at Liberty Creek! This year, we are focusing on three schoolwide expectations that help every Explorer feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. You will likely see and hear: Explorers are Safe, Responsible, and Kind.

Our staff will explicitly teach, model, and practice these expectations in all areas of our school, including classrooms, hallways, the playground, cafe, bathrooms, and assemblies. We will also celebrate students when we see them demonstrating these positive behaviors through specific, positive feedback, Explorer Tickets, and other acknowledgements.

Families can help by talking with your Explorer about what it means to be Safe, Responsible, and Kind at school and at home. Together, we can build a school community where every Explorer feels a sense of belonging and has the tools they need to be successful.
