School Cash Online
Dear Parent/Guardian,
Frederick County Public Schools uses SchoolCash Online as our preferred method of payment for school fees — from field trips and yearbooks to athletic fees and more. It's free, secure, and takes less than two minutes to set up.
Get started here: https://frederickcounty.schoolcashonline.com
How It Works
SchoolCash Online is the industry-leading platform for safe and secure school fee management, trusted by schools across North America. After you create a free account, you will be notified automatically of all your child's associated fees — so you're always in the loop. You can then browse, purchase, and pay online at any time, from any device.
Why It's Worth Signing Up
• Pay anytime, anywhere — no cash sent to school with your child
• Automatic notifications when new fees or activities are posted
• All your children's fees are managed from one account
• Full payment history and receipts available at any time
• Your payments go directly to the school's bank account, freeing up teachers and staff to focus on students.
Register in Under 2 Minutes
Visit https://frederickcounty.schoolcashonline.com and click Register. You'll need your name, email address, and your child's school details.
Please take advantage of the options to prepay your student's meal accounts. The student's name and ID number are required to set up your account on LINQ Connect.
Prepayment of meals protects against forgotten or lost money and allows students to move through the serving lines more quickly. Parents with multiple children in the school system can also go to LINQ Connect to transfer money between sibling's accounts.
Parents can also send cash or a check to their child’s school cafeteria to pay for school meals. Parents can indicate “Meals Only” on the check if they prefer their child not purchase a la carte items. When a check is received indicating “Meals Only,” a notation will be made on the child’s account to alert the food services staff.
Free and Reduced Price Meal Benefits
Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS), Food and Nutrition Services announces participation in the School Breakfast Program and National School Lunch Program for school year 2026-2027.
Free and reduced-price meal benefits are available at all Frederick County Public Schools. Online applications for the 2026-2027 school year are available at https://linqconnect.com.
We encourage families who think they qualify or are unsure if they qualify to complete the free and reduced-price meal benefits application (MBA), to determine your child’s eligibility. Eligibility for free or reduced-price meals is based on the following annual income eligibility guidelines effective from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.
Find the all the information including the income eligibility guideline chart here.
IMPORTANT: Families must be approved each new school year. Even if your student has been approved every previous school year, please contact the FNS office to verify current meal benefit status. Last year’s benefits only carry over for the first 30 school days. Without a 2026-2027 meal benefits approval, your student(s) will have to pay for meals starting Thursday, October, 1st.
If you received a 2026-2027 NOTICE TO HOUSEHOLDS OF MEAL BENEFIT APPROVAL or NOTICE OF DIRECT CERTIFICATION Email or Letter, do NOT complete an application. IMPORTANT: Contact the FNS Office to verify 2026-2027 Meal Benefits status of any children in your household NOT listed on letter.
If any children in your household receive SNAP or TCA BENEFITS, do NOT complete an application. IMPORTANT: Contact the FNS office by phone or email to verify 2026-2027 meal benefit status.

School Attendance for 2026-2027
Maryland Law requires that a written excuse be provided each time that your child is absent. The excuse should include the date of the absence, your child’s first and last name, and the reason for the absence. Please either send in a handwritten note or you can email MYES.Attendance@fcps.org.
Absences considered lawful and therefore excused, as described in the Public School Laws and Code of Bylaws of the Maryland State Board of Education, are:
Illness of the student
Death in the immediate family
Court summons
Hazardous weather condition
Work or activity accepted by the school authorities
Observance of religious holiday up to 3 days
State emergency
Suspension
Lack of authorized transportation
Health exclusion
Other emergency (judgment of Superintendent or designee)
FCPS attendance policies will be fully implemented and parent notification will be sent for any student who is on track to becoming or is already deemed chronically absent or tardy. Notification will begin at 5 days and when a student accumulates 10 or more absences within the school year. Chronic absenteeism is defined as missing 10 percent or more of school days due to absence for any reason- both lawful and unlawful. This amounts to 18 absences total in a single school year.
