LP 1 Testing Tips
Pacific Coast Academy - 2026-2027
Welcome!
Each month leading up to end-of-year testing, we’ll share tips to support you and your family. Testing is a life skill. Practicing now helps children learn perseverance, coping strategies, and test-taking techniques. PCA’s assessments are low-stakes but powerful practice for future milestones like:
• College/university placement exams
• Career certification tests
• Job interviews
• Typing exams
• Writing and speaking confidently
It’s our job to prepare students for college and career — and starting early makes a big difference. Look out for monthly tips and share which skill you’d like help with!
Talking About Testing
Let's Start the Conversation!
Exact Path
Want to see real student growth? PCA’s Exact Path creates personalized learning paths using STAR 360 results, so every student works at the just-right level; whether they need foundational support or are above grade level. Last year, students who completed trophies in Exact Path showed significantly more growth than those who didn’t.
Exciting news: PCA will host the Exact Path Challenge again this winter! Keep an eye out for details from the school. Our goal this year is for ALL students to show growth—are you ready to cheer them on? 👏📚
CAASPP Score Reports
This year, our goal continues to be to improve student growth and achievement.
Your child's Student Score Report should be in your Parent Portal by the second week of school, if it isn't there already. Please talk to your HST to help analyze your child's STAR 360 and CAASPP scores.
Writing and Typing
Typing Club is a program that is available for $5 through the OSP. There are more typing programs suggested on the Parent Testing Resource Site.
