Eastview Update

Wow...It is hard to believe that the school year is ending today. I want to thank all of you for your support and encouragement this school year. I hope that everyone has a fun summer. For those going on to Troy next year, we will miss you and good luck. For those coming back to Eastview next year, we cannot wait to see you again in August!

The summer office hours will be from 8am-1pm until June 14th. The office will reopen August 1, from 8am-1pm.

The Avon Lake Public Library Summer Reading Program 2024 has begun! Look for a reading log coming home from school with your child/children. You can pick up more copies at the library or print one attached. We also included the tween and adult reading logs so the whole family can participate!

The Summer Reading Program is the perfect way to encourage literacy this summer, along with the chance to earn some awesome prizes! All students that participate will also be acknowledged at Eastview and get an extra recess as an incentive too.

Theme: Adventure Begins at Your Library

June 1, 2024 - August 3, 2024

Prizes: For every 10 days of reading completed, participants earn a raffle ticket. They may also earn the following:

-20 day of reading completed: Paperback book of your choice

-40 days of reading completed: Flashlight

-60 days of reading completed: Individual s'more-making kit

Gift certificates (camping discounts, Applebees, Ohio State Fair, Monster's ticket discounts, etc.) will be available every 10 days completed.

Raffle Items: Drawn on Monday, August 5, 2024 at 12pm!

-Kindle Fire-2

-Lego Camp Adventures-(2 duplo sets, 2 lego sets)

-Backyard Camp Adventure Kit (4 person tent, sleeping bag)-3

-Sand & Water Adventure Kit (sand & water toys, beach towel)-3

-Creature Adventure Kit (bug catching & fishing gear)-3

Programming:

Check the website (alpl.org) for fun summer programming. Discovery Works staff will be running fun programs outside while their space is being renovated. Other programs include Jungle Terry, a juggler, kids concerts, and lots more! For further information, contact the Children's desk at 440-933-8917.

Over the summer months you will receive an email notifying you to complete your student's back-to-school forms via your PowerSchool Parent Account.

All forms are to be completed prior to the first day of school. This is a one-stop shop for updating your child’s emergency and medical information as well as signing off on the annual permission forms for school district policies.
