SILVER FOX NEWS
December 13th, 2024
Congratulations!
Congratulations to Mrs. Stephanie Gore! She was chosen as TOMS Staff Member of the Week!
Mrs. Gore has been a 6th Grade Social Studies teacher
at TOMS for 8 years.
Her favorite memory of middle school was being a cheerleader!
Her advice to her middle school self would be... "
Don't worry what these people think, they won't be around when you are grown, you will find your TRUE friends then!"
Our TOMS Mock Trial Team placed 8th in the state competition this past weekend. Please congratulate our students and coaches for their hard work when you see them! They spent so many hours working together as a team to ensure they were prepared.
Additionally, many of our students received individual recognition for their outstanding performance, hard work, and dedication to their roles.
• Peer Recognition for Most Effective Attorney
o Natasha Anacleto Soares
o Christian Sayres
o Luna Cupertino
• Peer Recognition for Most Effective Witness
o Eliana Zahn
o Michael Martinez
o Isla McKee
• Judges Recognition for Most Effective Attorney
o Khaliana Sayago
• Judges Recognition for Most Effective Witness
o Eliana Zahn
o Eisley Bryant
Thank you to everyone who has supported our team. Our students play are ethical, they write their own material, and they deserve all the credit for their success.
Mock Trial at the state level requires that members be fully independent of notes and free from assistance of their peers and coaches. Mock Trial is also unique in that students cannot prepare for everything that could happen in the courtroom, and members learn how to think quickly on their feet and adapt when things do not go as planned. Each round presented new challenges and obstacles that they were required to overcome. We are so incredibly proud of their professionalism, sportsmanship, and perseverance.
Thank you to our TOMS Coaches, Mrs. Boone, Mrs. Wims and Mr. Lentz for their tireless efforts to guide our team
We would also like to thank Mr. Walt Nichols for taking the time to transport our team safely to both regionals and the state competitions — we apologize for their singing.
Until next year!
Case Dismissed.
This December our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Ten Oaks Band, directed by Mr. Jose Poe, TOMS Orchestra directed by Mr. Chad Hammer, and CTOMS Chorus directed by Ms. Rachel Rollins put on three outstanding Winter Concert series performances once again! The Winter concerts were nothing less than spectacular and all three performed to packed houses! The audiences were extremely impressed with their musical talents. Thank you to Mr. Pope, Mr. Hammer, Ms. Rollins , our students, and to everyone who joined us for our Winter Orchestra Concert. Bravo!
Thank you to those who considered helping us with our Angel tree this holiday!
We ask that you return the wrapped gift with the Angel Tag to the front office of TOMS no later than Friday, December 13th. Monetary gifts are also accepted to help with unfulfilled tags. Thank You for helping make this Christmas a little brighter for one child.
Contact Mrs. Cassandra Beale at cbeale@horrycountyschools.net for questions on how to donate/give a gift.
In the spirit of the holiday season, we hosted the first annual TOMS HOLIDAY TWINKLE TOURNAMENT of fun holiday games during TOMS TIME starting next week for staff members! It was a great way to start off each morning, playing some hilarious games.
Congratulations to our 7 Silver Fox Students who wrestling on the CFHS Team this season! Michael Pearson, Matthew Testaverde, Hal Funderburk, Paxton Dahl and Trey Carrasco. (Not pictured are Ezarah Booker and Luca Ciaccio)
