A Message from the Principals
by Angela Filion
We have had a wonderful start to the school year! Our students are settling into new routines, building relationships, and learning what it means to take care of ourselves, take care of others, and take care of this place. It has been a joy to see our classrooms and hallways filled once again with curiosity, connection, and excitement for learning.
This morning, some of our educators came together to bring back Friday Sing, a long standing tradition started by beloved retired teacher David Bolger. Our students filled the space with music, movement, and plenty of smiles as they sang and danced together. What a joyful way to begin the day and celebrate our school community!
You may already know that Caitlin Bianchi has been selected to serve as the Principal of Allen Brook School for the 2026–27 school year. Caitlin has devoted 21 years to the Williston Schools community, serving as both a teacher and instructional coach. She knows our students, families, faculty, and community well, and she leads with care, thoughtfulness, and a genuine belief in children. Caitlin and I are both excited about her taking on this new role. We will continue working closely together for the rest of September to support a smooth and thoughtful transition.
Next week, we will visit classrooms together for a shared read-aloud. During those visits, we will talk with the students about our new roles. We will also both be serving ice cream at our upcoming WFAP Ice Cream Social on Monday September 14th from 6-7:30, and we hope you will stop by to say hello! Caitlin is especially looking forward to connecting with our families and welcoming everyone at the Allen Brook Open House on September 24 from 6:00–7:00 p.m.
As I reflect on my eight year journey at Allen Brook, I am filled with tremendous pride and gratitude. It has been an incredible privilege to learn, grow, and lead alongside such a talented and deeply dedicated faculty and staff. Every day, they bring their expertise, creativity, and whole hearts to caring for our children. Together, we have navigated challenges, celebrated countless moments of joy, and continued building a school where every child can feel known, valued, and connected.
Allen Brook has shaped me in ways I will carry into my next chapter as CVSD’s Interim Director of Student and Community Engagement. While transitions are always bittersweet, I am proud of all we have accomplished together and look forward to seeing Caitlin lead this remarkable school community forward.
With deep gratitude,
Angela Filion
