To continue our learning in the next couple of weeks, the students will be learning about Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic. At the end of the month, the students will be challenged to write interesting facts that they learned and will be entered in a drawing to win a fun prize!

This week, students focused on being "Bucket Fillers" in the classroom. Check out our classroom matrix for tips on how your child can fill buckets in the classroom. These strategies can also be used at home! See below for ways to mirror our PBIS system at home.

Create PBIS at Home: Focuses on being a "Bucket Filler" across four areas:

  • Self: Morning/bedtime routines, calm-down tools, positive self-talk.

  • Others: Giving compliments, active listening, showing empathy.

  • Home: Household chores and respecting shared spaces.

  • School: Daily reading and caring for backpacks and school supplies.

  • Tip: Create a visual 4-column matrix on the fridge or use a token (bucket) jar to celebrate positive actions.
