CLASS NEWS
Dear 1st Grade Parents,
This week, we celebrated Dot Day—a day to remind us of our unique creativity and kind hearts! The kids had so much fun going on a scavenger hunt with their chapel buddies, where they explored the school and got to know one another better.
In Reading, we discussed A Bad Case of Stripes and Enemy Pie to explore story maps and identify important story elements. During Writer’s Workshop, we practiced writing our own personal narratives across multiple pages, including a clear beginning, middle, and end!
In Math, we explored the relationship between numbers to 10 through addition and subtraction. In Phonics, we mastered the FLSZ rule and continued building our phonics skills.
It was a wonderful week filled with learning, creativity, and connection! We can’t wait for another week of learning and growing together!
Have a great weekend,
Lilly Ray & Sandi Giusti
