Equitable Neighborhood Initiative
Digital Citizen
It is important to talk about digital citizen when you are teaching a technology class. Digital citizen refers to the rights and responsibilities of using digital tools and interacting with others online. Digital citizen makes up many things such as privacy and security, cyberbullying/cyberstalking, digital footprint, and online communications. Mrs. Billups students were put in groups to create a Digital citizenship and Cyberbullying Poster Campaign.
Digital Design & Publication
Students who are a part of the Digital Media Design and Digital Publication Design classes within Vigor’s Signature Academy have been busy learning how to take proper pictures and making informative advertisements. These advertisements have been used to notify their peers and the community of various events that are planned for the school.
Network Switches
C.F. Vigor High School's IT Students work with network switches. Students are engaged in hands-on activities to understand the devices' operation and configuration in Mr. Donye Woodyard Information Technology and Network Fundamentals Class. They learn about the switch's role in directing data traffic within a network, ensuring efficient communication between devices. Students perform practical tasks like setting up VLANs, managing port configurations, and implementing Quality of Service (QoS) settings. They also gain insight into network segmentation, bandwidth allocation, and prioritization. This experience equips them with valuable skills in network management, troubleshooting, and optimizing network performance, highly relevant in the field of networking and IT.
Computer Lab Safety
Our students here at Vigor High School know the importance of safety in the computer lab! Pictured below we have Jake Lang and DeArrius Washington who have created safety signs to hang in our computer lab. They are both seniors and a part of the Vigor High School's football team.
Summer Internships
Vigor's Student Leadership Council Trainings
In work session two, Licensed Professional Counselor, Mrs. Veronica Davis, had students create their own mental health toolbox filled with coping strategies, personal inspiration statements, and emotional wellness tools designed to help them stay mentally fit this school year. They also learned about the difference between mental health and mental illness and learned what it takes to be in the field of professional mental health counseling.
Veronica Davis owns and operates LPC Services in Mobile, Alabama. She provides counseling to adolescents, adults, and couples throughout the state of Alabama. One can contact Mrs. Davis at www.LPCServices4Help.com and connect with her on Facebook-LPC Services, LLC Behavioral Health Specialist or on Instagramat Veronica_Davis_Therapist_.
