Panther Weekly

March is Theatre In Our Schools month, a time when we celebrate and raise awareness of the power of #TheatreInOurSchools to develop well-rounded, empathetic, and thoughtful leaders. It a time when thousands of students, educators, and supporters join in grassroots campaigns that highlight how participation in school theatre programs helps students develop critical skills that will benefit them in their future careers regardless of whether they pursue arts after graduation.

Congratulations to Parkview High School and the other Gwinnett County Schools for earning the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Cooperative Spirit Sportsmanship Award, an honor that highlights their dedication to respect, fairness, honesty, and responsibility in competitive events.

The Parkview Jungle Exchange has been awarded the DECA School-Based Enterprise Gold Level Certification Award for the 2024-2025 school year. This award is achieved for having the highest standards for a school-based enterprise, thereby providing students with work experience leading to management, supervision and leadership skills. Gold Certification allows our students to compete in the DECA International Career & Development Conference in Orlando this year. Representing Parkview is student manager Aynna Virani, and third year employee Daniya Patel.

Pictured are some of our student employees along with their Advisor, Mrs. Millicent Henson.

On Saturday, February 22, the Parkview Dance Team showcased their talent at the GHSA State competition. Our girls performed exceptionally well, achieving their highest score ever of 80.3 at the state level. It has truly been an incredible season for the Dance Team.

The girls' golf team triumphed over Duluth yesterday at the Country Club of Gwinnett. They were spearheaded by low medalist Chloe Gordon, along with Ava Landry, Aubrey Cooper, and Katie Nguyen. The boys' golf team also secured a victory against Duluth, finishing with a score of 177 to 222 at the same venue. Avery Brown led the boys as the low medalist, shooting a remarkable 40, followed by Brad Schreck (41), Greg Hart (43), and Danny Haussig (54). Please take a moment to congratulate these players for their outstanding performance yesterday.

Congratulations to our Varsity Rifle Team on a great season! The team shot their highest score of the season last night in their Sectional playoff match, but unfortunately lost to Cherokee High School 1128-1083. Katherine Rodriguez and Dominic Dauge tied for our team high score with 274 points out of 300, and Nathanael Hixson finished his high school shooting career with a new Personal Record of 95 out of 100 in the Standing position, the highest of all shooters for the match in that position.

• Thursday, March 6th: 11th grade Language Arts
• Monday, March 10th: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
