Flourishing At FSS!
March 1, 2021
Happy March FSS Fam!
Greetings FSS Students and Families!
March is here π which means there is only 20 more days until Spring π·! As we welcome in March, I hope we can enter this month with a renewed sense of hope for warmer and sunnier days, returning to some sense of normalcy soon, and a fresh and positive outlook on what the Spring has in store for all of us.
This month, we will celebrate π Read Across America Week π from March 1-5 full of special-themed days, focusing on the importance of reading, and exploring new authors in our classrooms!
The dedicated FSS educators have worked tirelessly throughout the school year to curate engaging and necessary supply bags for our students. We appreciate all of our families and caregivers making time on Wednesday afternoons to drop by the school, say a socially distanced hello, and grab a new set of supplies π. Please know it is very difficult for teachers and staff to make home deliveries on a regular basis. If you are having difficulty with transportation, please call our main office and we can try to accommodate your request. Thank you in advance! π€
We are rounding out this month with our monthly All-School Meeting at 9:00 a.m. Our second grade friends will be our lovely hosts and I know they have some wonderful activities planned for all of us. We are looking forward to seeing all of our families join us π. Lastly, we have two half-days on both March 25th and March 26th. These early release days are scheduled to allow for parent/teacher conferences to take place. Your child/renβs classroom teacher will be in touch to schedule a conference time.
On behalf of the entire FSS staff, I want to wish all of our FSS Families a renewing March filled with lots of sunshine π, less snowflakes β, and kindness to one another. Thank you for your continued support and partnership. π
As always, please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
With gratitude,
Michelle Fenimore π
Principal

Band And Chorus News From Mrs. Clark
Attention Chorus families! We have been asked once again to perform for the Childrens Advocacy Center's (CAC) annual flag raising. In the past we have performed on the town common. This year the event will be virtual and will be broadcast on GCTV! We will be working on creating a virtual performance video to share with them to play during the ceremony. I have sent a few emails asking for permission for your child to participate. If you did not receive an email and would like your child to participate please email me at gincla1@gpsk12.org. We will be recording in March and the ceremony will be held April 1st.
Band and Chorus: We are planning a virtual concert for FSS Band and Chorus students. Each group will record 3 or 4 songs and I will put them together in a "virtual performance" video to share this Spring. If you did not receive my email and would like your child to participate please email me at gincla1@gpsk12.org. CHORUS: Please indicate if you would like your child to participate in both events (CAC and FSS concert).
*Please note our plan to hold a virtual concert for FSS Band and Chrous students is subject to change based on updated guidance.
