May 2026 BAS Bond
Another busy and productive week at Maltby!
Dr. Outlaw announced the May 2026 Bond this week. Please use this link to see all the details and the potential impact to all of our buildings in Brighton, https://www.brightonk12.com/district/bond-information .
The potential improvements at Maltby are:
Security lockout system * Add outdoor classroom * Band room equipment storage * Playground equipment * Roof replacement Projects for Maltby Intermediate * Elevator replacement * Select flooring replacement * Replace classroom furniture * Add cooling to gym * Sitework: Drive loop and parking lot repaving
A couple reminders about our parking lot and pick up/drop off...
-- Please give the buses the right of way at all times. Please don't cut in front of them as they leave our lot. It makes everything behind you slower.
-- If the pick up/drop off line is full and you are on Bauer Road, please go right into the lot. DO NOT stop in the driveway and wait for the lane to start moving. It jams up Bauer Road and makes the whole process slower for all the buses and parents.
-- Please remember there is no left turn out of our lot during arrival and dismissal times.
Spring is on its way, Maltby Families!!

This year, we will be transitioning from our traditional Silent Auction to a Read-A-Thon hosted on an easy-to-use online platform. While we’ve loved the community support behind our auction, we’re thrilled to introduce a fundraiser that directly supports student learning while keeping things simple and accessible for everyone.
Our Read-A-Thon will encourage students to strengthen their reading skills (hello AR points!) while raising funds for our school. Families and friends will be able to support students securely online, making participation easier than ever!
More details, including how to register and set up your student’s reading page, will be coming soon. Thank you for your continued support of our students and school community!
Activity Afternoon is next Friday, February 27th. Please sign up if you're able to help!
Our next meeting is Tuesday, March 10th.
If you still would like to donate to the PTO for the year, please do so at this link. Thank you all...we could not do this without your support!
Maltby PTO
Our meetings are 9:30am at Maltby on the following Tuesdays:
3/10, 4/14, and 5/12

The McKinney Vento Act
The Brighton Area Schools is part of a consortium to serve students in temporary living situations that
provides financial support for educational needs, referral for housing, clothing and other needs, general
support and technical assistance. To ensure compliance with federal law, all school staff must help
identify student living in the following situations: emergency shelters/transitional housing,
motels/hotels, car, parks or public spaces, shared housing due to a loss of housing or economic
hardship, or living temporarily with non-parent or guardian.
The district’s homeless liaison is Starr Acromite and each building has trained staff members to assist in
the endeavor. Our consortium contact at the Livingston Educational Service Agency is Candice
Uyttendaele.
Please contact your building principal or Starr Acromite at 810-299-4040 for information/assistance.
Don't miss out on Maltby emails!
All school communication will come from the "maltoff@brightonk12.com" email address, so be sure to save it to your favorites!
Please note: that email address is unmonitored, so if you need to communicate something to the school, please call the office at 810-299-3600 or email a staff member. Thank you!
