Message from the Principal Message from the Principal

Happy Hannukah!

Hanukkah is a special Jewish holiday that lasts for eight nights. It celebrates a time long ago when a small amount of oil miraculously kept a temple’s lamp burning for eight whole days. Families light a candle on the menorah each night, enjoy delicious foods like latkes and donuts, play the dreidel game, and spend time together. Day 1 of Hanukkah begins on Sunday the 14th.

Wishing all of our families who celebrate a wonderful first day of Hanukkah! 🕎✨

Winter Program Winter Program

If you missed the Winter Program, you can watch the dress rehearsal here. If there's an elf on your child's face, that's because during the editing process (last night 12/17 at 10:00 pm) we still did not have your child's photo release form.

Multnomah Winter Program 2025

Attendance Attendance

Wow! The tardies have been REALLY BAD! Parents, we need your support in getting all the students here on time. Set your alarms for 10 minutes earlier if that helps. Every student who arrives by 8:00 will receive Multnomah money this week! Let's add up that cash! There are only 5 days of school left in December, and every single day matters. We can do this, Eagles!

Santa Photos Santa Photos

Please check your child's backpack on Monday (12/15) for an envelope for photos with Santa if you ordered a print or two. We condensed sibling orders into one envelope to eliminate extra waste material. Go Green Multnomah!

Shakey's Shakey's

Our friends at Shakey's have gifted each student with a free Shakey's pizza coupon. Check for that in your child's backpacks on Monday as well!

Multnomah Store Multnomah Store

Have students bring ALL of their Multnomah dollars on Thursday the 18th! This time we will not have a math pre-planning worksheet as we want students to pick items for themselves or even items for gifting for the holidays. When they walk in on Thursday, each table will have items with a specific labeled value. They will shop from the adult assigned to that table and move about the library to see all of our goodies! We added some things based on students' requests.

Door Decorating Contest Door Decorating Contest

Our students and teachers participated in the holiday door‑decorating contest. While some doors could have fit beautifully into multiple categories, what we learned is that there are simply too many talented people at Multnomah.

The judges used a rubric to rate each door, and classes had the option to have a student speaker present their door. The 4 winning classes will receive a class pizza party on Monday and the 4 winning teachers will receive a goodie box!

Check out our photos with Santa and the door entries!

Winter Program Winter Program

Our Winter Program will take place on Wednesday, December 17th at 11:00 a.m. The gate will open at 10:50 a.m., after students have finished recess. You do not need to pull siblings out of class. In the morning, the entire school will participate in a dress rehearsal and perform for one another.

If you have reserved a VIP seat, please look for Ms. Dana at the front of the performance area near the stage. Your preassigned seats will be labeled with your child’s name. While you may not move to the front of the line for entry, your seats will be waiting for you whenever you arrive.

All other seating (not marked with a students' name) is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please do not save seats, and kindly fill in all available spaces as you enter. We expect a large crowd, so every seat counts.

Because the event is scheduled during the middle of the day, please be prepared with sunglasses and/or hats. Finally, also note that we have adjusted the performance order to ensure that teachers and students have enough time to transition on and off the stage, and to avoid overlapping with lunch schedules if we fall behind. Please review the schedule so you know what time your child will be performing. Again, the schedule is different than the paper copy we sent home. Please review the updated performance schedule here.

Finally, some of our wonderful parent volunteers will be selling coffee and pastries outside our campus. They would like to raise funds to help donate back to the school for all the various incentives and programs that we have for our students. Bring some cash to support these wonderful parents.
