What a great job the class did leading the school in mass on Wednesday! So many compliments were given to the class, by teachers, Fr. Rene, and students alike. I look forward to seeing you on Sunday, where they will lead the parish community in mass at 10:00am. Please arrive at the church by 9:45am. The first few pews will be reserved for the class. As a reminder, students will wear uniforms to mass on Sunday, and free dress to school on Tuesday.
We had a great visit from the Fire Department this week as well. The presentation focused on having a safety plan at home in the event of a home fire, and students were able to see all the tools within the fire engine, and even handle a few. The class was respectful, shared great knowledge, and asked pertinent questions. It's a good reminder to revisit and even practice your home safety plan.
In Reading this week, we read a story about a magical brocade, turning our focus to folktales. We worked on making predictions, using clues from the text, and identifying theme within a story. In Math, we continued our topic on multiplying decimals, and the class is doing very well! In SciTrek, students carried out their 2nd experiment, made conclusions, and presented their findings to the class. In Social Studies, we began a new chapter on the beginning of settlements and colonies within North America.
