A Big Thank You to Our Dewey Families

Thank you for your continued partnership and support throughout the school year. It’s hard to believe that we have already completed two trimesters and are now on the home stretch of the school year! The next few months will be busy and full of exciting learning opportunities for our students.

As we wrap up Trimester 2, I want to acknowledge the tremendous effort from both our students and staff. So much hard work has gone into learning, growing, and preparing for the final trimester—yet there is still so much more to come!

Before we head into spring break, we look forward to celebrating our students’ work at Open House on Thursday, March 26 from 6:00–7:00 PM. Families are invited to visit classrooms to see the learning that has taken place so far this year. Be sure to also stop by the Multi-Purpose Room to view student artwork and displays from our specialist programs.

Open House is always a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our students and come together as a school community. We hope you can join us for this special evening as we head into spring break.

Scholastic Book Fair Success

A huge shout-out to Mrs. Heyde and her team for hosting another amazing Scholastic Book Fair! Students, staff, and families loved browsing and purchasing books throughout the week. It was especially uplifting to see our student helpers supporting younger students and classmates with additional needs, helping make the event welcoming and accessible for everyone.

The Book Fair continues to be a wonderful community event that promotes a love of reading while also supporting our school. Preliminary numbers show that this year’s fair generated over $15,000 in gross sales — more than $3,000 higher than last year! Proceeds from the annual event go directly into the library in the form of books, magazines, and supplies. Mrs. Heyde was able to purchase nearly 100 books before the fair had even closed. She'll be working to process those into inventory in the next month. We are thrilled to see happy readers enjoying the new titles.

Thank you also to all of the parent volunteers that helped kids gain valuable skills shopping independently. Special thanks to: Katelyn Williams for painting the beautiful murals, Sarah Sault for helping to process our new book inventory, in addition to the fantastic Erica Frith, Melissa Hadley, Bre Sullivan, Sabrina Bayless, Deanna Butts for their assistance setting up and taking down the book fair. We really couldn't have an event of this size without your support and encouragement. Thank you so much!

Dewey Dinner Auction – Thank You!

Dear Dewey Community,

What an incredible night! On behalf of the Dewey Dinner Auction Committee, I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who helped make our recent fundraiser a resounding success.

We are truly blown away by the generosity of our community. To the attendees who came out, enjoyed the evening, and bid so generously on our auction items: your support directly impacts our students.

A special thank you to:

• Our Amazing Sponsors: Your contributions provided the foundation for our event. California E-Bike in Fair Oaks, Sully's Bar and Gril in Rocklin, Flour Dust in Roseville, Glenn Oaks Swim and Tennis Club in Carmichael, Silver Sake in Carmichael, Bella Bru in Carmichael, Milagro Event Center, & Correctional Peace Officers Foundation.

• The Committee: For volunteering countless hours to plan, organize, and execute this event. Specifically, Christina Labio and Brittany Souza, your passion for making this event happen, your hard work exploring venues, coordinating donations and everything in between, thank you!

• The Teachers and Staff: We had a blast celebrating with those of you who made it! We appreciate your unwavering support and for providing such delicious desserts for our dessert auction.

• Room Representatives & Parent Donors: For your hard work in coordinating and contributing to the incredible class donations. You out did yourselves this year. The live auction items were extraordinary!

The Impact of Your Generosity

Because of your support, we are thrilled to announce that we raised enough funds to purchase two new Smart TVs! This means that by the end of this year, all classrooms from 3rd grade through 6th grade will be fully equipped with this new technology, significantly enhancing our students' learning environment.

We could not have achieved this goal without the combined effort of the entire Dewey family. Thank you for showing up for our school and our students.

With deepest gratitude,

Breana Sullivan

Dewey PFO President

RaiseRight Update: Halfway Through the Year!

We're halfway through the school year, and it's exciting to see how teachers have been putting their RaiseRight funds to work in the classroom! So far this school year, teachers have used their accounts to purchase:

  • Classroom books and library additions
  • Essential classroom supplies
  • Materials for specific projects and activities
  • PE equipment and supplies
  • Prize box goodies
  • Math learning aides
  • Vocabulary learning aides

Best of all, these are resources that didn't have to come out of teachers' personal pockets!

What is RaiseRight?

RaiseRight turns your everyday shopping into earnings for your child's classroom. When you purchase gift cards through RaiseRight, a percentage comes back as earnings—80% goes directly to your child's teacher's classroom account, and 20% goes into your family account to use toward school expenses like field trips. It's never too late to join!

For help getting started, email Danielle at pfoharrydeweyscrip@gmail.com.
