CPSB Middle School Principal of the Year, Mrs. Angela Guillory
We are very proud to share the news that our very own Moss Bluff Middle School Principal, Mrs. Angela Guillory, has been named as Calcasieu Parish School Board's Middle School Principal of the Year!
"With two decades of service in Calcasieu Parish schools, Mrs. Angela Guillory has dedicated her career to middle school education. She has taught social studies, led enrichment programs in jazz dance, and coached cheerleading for 12 years before moving into leadership roles as curriculum coordinator, dean of students, and assistant principal. Now in her role as principal of Moss Bluff Middle School, Mrs. Guillory continues to make a meaningful impact on students, staff, and the broader community, leading with energy, empathy, and a true love for education."
"Strong schools are built on strong leadership," said Superintendent Dr. Jason VanMetre. "Our principals inspire students, empower teachers, and shape the culture of our schools. Their vision and commitment are at the heart of our success as a district. We are proud to celebrate our outstanding leaders who embody what it means to selflessly serve our students, teachers, and staff."

There's an App for That!
There is a new App that can and will be used throughout the Parish to report things anonymously from your phone, iPad, or computer-The Close Watch App.
Brief Overview: A complaint is received by CPSO and law enforcement will check out the complaint to make sure it is legitimate and will then move forward.
Crimes and thefts can be reported, either in school or out, and it can prevent mass casualty incidents with just a few key strokes.
See something, say something, itβs right at your fingertips!
It's in the App Store called Calcasieu Close Watch.
*Remember, if you see or hear something, REPORT IT to a MBMS admin or a faculty/staff member IMMEDIATELY!*

It's the most beautiful time of the year (lights fill the streets, spreading so much cheer)
to give thanks for every little thing we have. Time to spend time with family and have a vacation, but first, let us take a glance back in October.
October is cancer awareness month. Students decked out in pink to show their support. M.B.M.S. is pretty in pink!
Student Council had a Kindness Week where students and teachers showed how kindness grows with us throughout our life.
Veterans Day, the day where we celebrate everybody who died for us and served our country. Our guest speaker, Air Force veteran, Heather Webb, shared her testimony and words of service. In the morning, we had a breakfast with our veterans that commenced into a wonderful ceremony.

Based off Google, almost 30% of Americans only online shop for Black Friday, while about 60% opt to shop in stores and online. However, 20% of Broncos would rather not go shopping at all.

Club Spotlight:
The Bronco Roundup Newspaper
by Amberlynn Fruge
The Bronco Roundup is our school's digital newspaper and is sponsored by Mrs. Leslie Guillory and Mrs. Savannah Foreman. We are a club that consists of 7th and 8th graders and we have a lot of diverse people with many different sports, backgrounds, and a good deal of talents.
In this group we are supportive, loving towards one another, and work together as a functional family. We have a meeting twice a month, and have two different groups working together to make one school newspaper with the goal of not only keeping everyone informed of what is going on around our campus, but to interact with each other as well!
We have a goal this year to get outside of our school walls and into the community! We are constantly working on the next paper, when one group is working on the current newspaper, the other group is getting ready for the next one so there is always something to do!
The people in our club are in different activities all over Moss Bluff Middle School from Jr. Broncettes, Cheer, Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, Tennis, Golf, Band, and more! Most of our Club members are also very involved in other clubs around our campus like Jr. Beta, Student Council, and Broncos on Mission.
It is very important to find what you love at this age or find something you have interest in because if you join clubs, groups, sports, or maybe just involve yourself with different types of people, you will gain more knowledge and make new friend along the way!
Our Club is made up of 21 students and each group has students in charge of each section of the newspaper including students who are Editors and Jr. Editors.
Our "A" group Editors are Amberlynn Fruge and Valentina Trinidad and they are both in charge of this groups Campus Life Section. Jr. Editors are Lorelei Duff and Kennedy Hardy. While they both work on our Bronco Blog, Lorelei has also stepped up to do our Feature Story for this group as well! Club Spotlight is Lily Boyette, Sports is done by Klaire Durio, Emma Golman, and Regan Kennedy, and our Fun Section is led by Shelby Jagneaux and Bennett Soileau.
Leading our "B" group are Editors Annabel Lee (Feature Story) and Alyssa Treme (Blog). Jr. Editors are Nyla Moore (Fun) and Charlee Hagan (Blog). Campus Life for Group B is led by London Savage and Caleigh Elliott. Tatum Parrett, Lainey O'Neal, and Harper Thornton run Sports, and Abel Wagner helps with Fun.

An Interview with Coach Bushnell: Football
by Tatum Parrett
How long have you been coaching?
This is my 5th year at MBMS and my 16th year as a football coach.
What is your coaching style?
My coaching style is preaching competition. We want the players to compete as hard as possible whether its practice or a game. Regardless of the score or situation, we want max effort. We constantly tell our players to play like the score is 0-0 the entire game, never let your foot off the gas. Everyone on the team has a job to do. If everyone does their job to the best of their ability and not try and do another player's job, we will be successful.
What was the memorial moment from the season?
My most memorable coaching moment is getting my first win as a head high school coach. I was a head softball coach at South Beauregard High School. My favorite coaching moment from here at MBMS Is getting a water cooler dumped on me after going undefeated this season.

What was the best game played this season?
It's hard to say which game was our best this season. Each game had moments that could have made it the best. Beating SJ Welsh at any sport is always a great time.
Who scored the most touchdowns?
Landyn Turner was responsible for most of our touchdowns this season. He either rushed for the TD himself or passed for quite a few of them. But must give credit to the entire offense for those touchdowns, without the O-line blocking and other receivers blocking it would be almost impossible to score. We also scored multiple times on defense so give a shoutout to those guys as well.
A Little Bronco Fun!
