The Lion's Roar
The Lions Roar is Riverwalk Academy's weekly athletic newsletter. Each week we will keep you updated about what is going on in our athletic program. Introduce you to one of our student athletes, and provide you with information that is beneficial to you and your athlete as they strive to improve every day.
About Riverwalk Athletics
Riverwalk Academy’s athletic program, governed by the South Carolina High School League (SCHSL), offers students in grades 7–12 the opportunity to compete in a variety of sports. Our coaches are dedicated to supporting student-athletes in their athletic journey while emphasizing academics, character development, and continuous improvement.
We strive to build well-rounded individuals by fostering perseverance, sportsmanship, and teamwork—traits that serve athletes well both on and off the field. Through goal setting, hard work, and overcoming challenges, our athletes develop resilience and determination that extend beyond the playing field. At Riverwalk, success is measured not only by wins but also by personal growth, teamwork, and the lasting lessons learned through competition.

Community Service Award
The Riverwalk Academy Athletics Community Service Award recognizes student-athletes who demonstrate a commitment to serving others and making a positive impact in their school and community. This award reflects the Riverwalk Athletics belief that leadership extends beyond competition and that student-athletes should strive to embody the LIONS core values of Leadership, Integrity, Organization, Nobility, and Sportsmanship both on and off the field of play.
Student-athletes may earn recognition based on the number of documented community service hours completed during the school year. All community service hours must be submitted to the Athletic Director no later than May 1 to be considered for recognition.
Award Levels
Bronze Level – 30–39 Community Service Hours
Silver Level – 40–49 Community Service Hours
Gold Level – 50 or More Community Service Hours
All student-athletes who achieve the Bronze Level or higher will be recognized during the annual Riverwalk Academy Athletic Awards Program.
Community service activities should benefit schools, nonprofit organizations, churches, civic organizations, community events, or other approved service opportunities. Hours completed for academic credit, court requirements, or paid employment do not qualify as community service hours.
By recognizing student-athletes who dedicate their time to helping others, Riverwalk Academy Athletics seeks to develop servant leaders who positively impact their communities while representing the Pride with excellence and character.
