2026–2027 Budget Approved

Assistant Superintendent for Business Patrick Palbicke presented the 2026–2027 budget during a public hearing. The Board later approved the balanced budget, marking the District's 14th consecutive balanced budget. The budget includes projected revenue of $48.33 million and expenditures of $47.51 million. Property taxes provide most of the District's revenue, supplemented by federal, state, and local funding. Salaries and benefits account for 86 percent of expenditures.

Student Growth Report

Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Ali Finn presented the 2026 Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) growth report. Students in grades 1–8 demonstrated strong growth in reading and math, meeting or exceeding expected growth targets in most areas.

Facility Matrix

Director of Facilities Eric Jonasson presented the Facility Matrix, which outlines summer and future facility projects. Summer 2026 work includes mechanical upgrades, building and grounds maintenance, interior flooring replacement, and HVAC improvements.

Daniel Wright Library Update

The Board reviewed preliminary concepts for the Daniel Wright library modernization project. Feedback from students and staff, along with visits to other school libraries, highlighted a desire for flexible learning spaces, makerspace opportunities, collaborative work areas, and comfortable seating. The library committee will continue evaluating options, costs, and project timelines.

Graduation Update

The Board set the Class of 2027 graduation ceremony for Wednesday, May 26. The event will take place at Stevenson High School.
