Attendance Procedures

After each absence please send in a paper note or email to Heather Wadsworth at heather.wadsworth@rcisd.org.

3 days unexcused absence - parents will have to sign an attendance contract

7 days unexcused absence - parents will have to attend an attendance committee meeting

10 days unexcused absence - truancy will be filed with the county

Please send in those notes so that we can get those unexcused absences changed to excused! At this age attendance is not a student responsibility but a parent responsibility so please ensure your children are at school when they are healthy!

You are welcome to email/Remind message/Dojo the classroom teacher, but know that they do not forward those messages. It is still your responsibility to notify Mrs. Wadsworth of the absence either electronically or by paper note.

Parent Lunches

Parent lunches are every Monday through Thursday unless otherwise noted. If something comes up in our schedule where we need to cancel, we'll be sure to send it out. Please make sure to bring your ID to get in the building. Families are only to eat lunch with their student, not student friends. Thank you!

There will be days this Spring Semester that we will not be able to have guests at lunch due to state assessments.

Families who have students testing - on testing days the student lunch times will differ than the normal schedule. Therefore, if you normally drop off lunch to your student at school please do so before 11am so that the student can pick it up on the lunch break.

Transportation Changes

Any changes from the usual pickup routine must be called to the front office by 2:00 that day in order for us to notify your child's teacher in a timely manner. Please do not only contact your teacher directly in case they don't have afternoon conference, have a sub that day, or happen to miss the message. Contacting the front office helps us make sure everyone involved with after school duty knows of the change.

Dismissal

We dismiss from school beginning at 3:10. Please ensure you are here on time for pickup. If you need to utilize after school child care be sure to check out the YMCA if you are looking for a high-quality afterschool program. For more information and to register, visit https://bit.ly/3SUSDJN.

Community Scorecard Survey

Royse City ISD Staff,

Help us develop our 8th Community Scorecard by taking a brief survey! Your feedback will help us further identify community priorities and perceptions. Get started at https://rcisd.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5omKodxkyknZgrA. If you are both a staff member and a parent, please consider taking the survey twice.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

We believe our schools, students and teachers are more than a test score! Community-based accountability in Royse City ISD represents a shift away from solely relying on standardized test scores to measure school success. Instead, it emphasizes a more holistic approach that incorporates the values and priorities of the local community.

This important work in Royse City ISD began in 2017 and resulted in the development of seven Community Scorecards. While they do provide a view of those required state measures, we are most proud of the stories you will find inside. Amazing things are happening in Royse City ISD schools for both students and staff.
