Thanks to all of our families who came to Back to School Night, it was great seeing you! Amanda Morgan, Anjuli Jimenez and I attended the River Cats game on September 2. While there, we were given various ideas of incorporating the River Cats as a community partner for fundraising, positive reinforcement, and a possible visit from Dinger, their mascot. We look forward to sharing these ideas with you all in the future.

Christopher Moraga was the student representative for us this year at the Board Meeting on September 9. He did a fantastic job sharing his ideas about Ralph Richardson Center with the Board. Thank you Chris for taking on this role for our site!

Now that the majority of our staff are trained, we will be randomly selecting three families from the majority of our classrooms to visit. Visitors will ask your permission first. we will come in pairs to your house, or a neutral spot, which ever you feel the most comfortable with. The idea behind this is so that we can get to know each other and build a partnership that is centered on student success. While we meet, our purpose is to learn about your hopes and dreams with your child. Please email me at cwaldron@sanjuan.edu if you happen to have any questions about this program.

Join the Ralph Richardson Center PTA!

When you join the RRC PTA, you become part of a community of parents, teachers, and staff working together to enrich our students' learning experience and support their families.

Joining is easy! Complete the membership form that will be sent home with your student on September 8th and return it to the school with cash or check (made out to Ralph Richardson Center PTA), or pay via PayPal using the QR code.

We know everyone's schedules are busy - your membership alone makes a difference by supporting the events, programs, and activities the PTA provides throughout the year. If you'd like to volunteer, even better! From helping at school events to supporting teachers and staff, there are always opportunities to get involved.

We're also looking for parents and staff to join the PTA Board. If you're interested in taking on a leadership role, please reach out at moniquemoraga@gmail.com for more information.

Together we can make this a great year for our students!

M.O.V.E. Moment M.O.V.E. Moment

M.O.V.E. stands for Mobility Opportunities Via Education/Experience and is a San Juan sponsored activity-based program designed to teach children with severe disabilities the functional motor skills needed to sit, stand, and walk as independently as possible. We have students and staff working very hard on this every day!

Let us introduce you to Ian Diedrich, who has overcome many obstacles and has worked diligently to build strength and endurance in walking! Goooooo Ian!!

It's that time of year, when we are able to plan for our parent and community members of our School Site Council (SSC). The SSC has decision-making input and approval over the use of the funding that is allocated to the school. The SSC annually reviews and updates the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), identifying proposed expenditures for the funds. The SSC supports student achievement through continuous development, monitoring, and evaluation of the SPSA. Returning members of SSC are: Kaitlyn Nicolai, Emilee Potter-Clinton, and Christie Waldron. Please use this to vote for our nominees and/or write in a candidate name if you are interested in participating, by September 22, 2025. Results of the election will be published in our October newsletter.
