Weekly Update for Truscott Elementary-Dual Language School

Weekly Message from Mrs. Hanford
Families,
On Monday, November 9th we will be honoring any Veterans from within our school community at our all school assembly beginning at 7:50 am. If anyone in your family is a veteran, we would like to honor you/them and hear about their rank and years of service. If you’d like to know more, please reach out to Mrs. Hanford.
On Wednesday, November 11th at 11:11 am, all Truscott students will be honoring our veterans during the Loveland Veterans Day parade which goes down Garfield Avenue. The parade lasts about one hour. As is a tradition here at Truscott, our students will line both sides of Garfield to wave flags and cheer for our veterans. We encourage students to wear red, white and blue to the parade. We love having families join us, so we hope to see you there! Please reach out to our front office if you have any questions.

The Giving Tree
Each year, Truscott Elementary Schools students are chosen by Berthoud Elementary High School Students to be part of their Giving Tree gift program. These high school students use their own money to purchase gifts for some of our Truscott families that might need a little help each year with the holiday season.
Please look in your child's Friday folder for the white piece of paper(I did not use the green paper I have in the passed due to colored paper costing two and 1/2 times as much as white.) Please fill out the form, if you want to participate and return it to me as soon as you can.
The Survey Closes This Week-We Want to Hear From You

Letter from the District about the Climate and Culture Survey
Notice: 2026-27 Climate and Culture Survey
In order to learn more about student experiences at school, we ask students in grades 3-12 to participate in an online survey. The survey content asks students to self-reflect on emotional regulation, social awareness, growth mindset, perseverance, sense of belonging, school safety, and teacher-student relationships.
Your student will be invited to participate in the full online survey during regular school hours at the end of October. When the survey is introduced, students will be invited to participate and informed that they do not have to answer any questions they do not wish to answer. The full survey should take no more than 20-30 minutes to complete.
In addition to this full survey, students will also have opportunities throughout the year to take shorter, more frequent surveys called Check-ins. These Check-ins will take just a few minutes to complete and will use questions drawn from and aligned to the full survey. This will provide timely feedback on how students are feeling and engaging in their learning. The information gathered from Check-ins will help school staff provide more immediate and responsive support for students.
You can review survey questions here: Grades 3-5 SEL Competencies Survey, Grades 6-12 SEL Competencies Survey, Grades 3-5 Supports & Environments Survey, Grades 6-12 Supports & Environments Survey
Student responses to both the full survey and Check-ins will follow our district’s expectations for maintaining confidentiality for your student. Our this-party vendor, Panorama, has signed the district's data privacy agreement to ensure all required online encryption protocols are followed.
Parents/guardians have already provided your consent or opt-out through online registration or annual family update; if you have any questions, please contact Tanya Brown 970 613 6917 tanya.brown@tsd.org

Tanya Brown (970)613-6917 tanya.brown@tsd.org
