October 10, 2025
From the Principal:
Dear Grandview Families,
What a great start to October at GES! Thank you for your continued partnership and for living our TigerPRIDE values every day. Over the next two weeks, don’t miss the Scholastic Book Fair (Oct. 10–17) with Family Night on Oct. 16, 3:00–5:00 PM. We’ll also celebrate Lights on Afterschool with Spirit Week Oct. 20–23 — watch for the daily themes and join the fun! Looking ahead, Teacher/Family Conferences are Monday, Nov. 4, 3:30–6:15 PM in 15-minute slots; your child’s teacher will share sign-up details.
As always, being here on time, every day, helps our Tigers thrive! Thank you for your trust, flexibility, and joy as we learn and grow together under the VUE Vision.
With Tiger pride,
Dr. Susan Short
Principal, Grandview Elementary
Hoops Season Is Near—Become a Volunteer!
Basketball season is right around the corner, and we're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help coach our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade boys and girls basketball teams! Coaching is a great way to get involved, support our student-athletes, and make a positive impact on their experience both on and off the court.
If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information, please reach out to Jim Hicks at jim.hicks@bellevue.kyschools.us.
Thank you for your continued support of our students and school programs!

Counselor's Corner:
Dear Grandview Families,
October’s Character Trait Focus: Responsibility
This month we are focusing on Respect, which we define as: taking action and understanding the impact of our choices. You can learn more about this month’s focus by checking out the latest Character Strong newsletter.
Tip of the Week
Instead of asking your child, “How was your day?” try asking, “How did you show responsibility today?” This small shift encourages reflection and deeper conversations at home.
Family Resource
The Purposeful People library is a wonderful tool that organizes book lists by character trait. Consider checking some titles out from your local library or searching YouTube for read-aloud versions. Reading or listening to books together is a great way to start meaningful discussions about responsibility and other important values.
Please remember, I’m here to help support our Tigers. If you have concerns about your child, don’t hesitate to reach out.
