Winter is Here — Let’s Stay Warm & Dry Together!
To make sure your child can enjoy outdoor recess safely and comfortably, please send them with the proper winter gear every day.
-
A warm coat
-
Hat and gloves
-
Winter boots
-
Snow pants & Snow Boots (when snow is on the ground)
Students without appropriate clothing will need to remain on the cleared blacktop and cannot play in the snow.
We so appreciate students having extra clothes in their backpacks, especially in this snowy weather. Pants and socks get wet easily, even with boots and snow pants on, so keeping extra clothes in your student's backpack is very needed at all times, regardless of grade. We want all our students to finish out the day with dry, warm clothing so they can focus better in class. Thank you for partnering with us and helping to make sure spare clothing is in your student's backpacks each day.
Thank you for helping ensure a safe and enjoyable recess and afternoon for all students!
⛄ Our Eagles love to play in the snow - make sure they have their snow gear and extra clothes
EVERY SINGLE DAY! ⛄
Find your Lost Items!
Our Lost & Found is once again overflowing - now with winter items! We have a box of gloves/mittens, a box of hats, countless coats and pants, as well as our usual items! Please have your student check and collect their items. We want everyone to be prepared with all your winter gear.
✨ A Huge Thank You! ✨
We are incredibly grateful to Sara F.'s Family for generously donating so many teacher wish list items. Your kindness and support make a real difference in our classrooms, helping teachers provide the best learning experiences for their students. 💙📚✏️
Health Blurb: Staying Well This Season
Dear Ivy Families!
With the cooler weather and illnesses increasing, we want to remind you that all medication, including over-the-counter items such as cough drops and throat lozenges, must be brought to school by a parent or guardian and stored in the health office. A medication authorization form must also be completed by a doctor for each medication (linked here).
Winter Clothing Drive
The temperatures are dropping, the snow is falling, and it’s the perfect time to clear out those closets and help our neighbors in need.
From December 8–18, we’ll have collection bins in the Commons for all gently used winter items — coats, boots, snow pants, gloves, hats, and scarves.
All donations will go directly to POC (Partners for Our Communities) to support underserved families right here in our area. Thank you, Ivy Hill, for helping us spread warmth this winter!
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out: meganpirvin@gmail.com
Holiday Lights Recycling Drive
Have broken or unwanted string lights? The Environmental PTA Committee invites you to recycle them! Bring your string lights to Ivy Hill Elementary School and drop them in the collection bin near the front office — we’ll recycle them for you.

DISMISSALS
We want every student to get home safely and smoothly, and your help makes a big difference! Dismissal is at 3:35 p.m. — please plan to pick up walkers at that time.
If your child’s usual dismissal plans change—for example, being picked up by someone different, walking home instead of taking the bus, or any other change—in addition to emailing your child’s teacher, please also email the school office at ihoffice@sd25.org. The earlier in the day that we know, the easier it is on our end.
Thank you for keeping us in the loop! With your support, dismissal can be calm, organized, and as joyful as the start of the day.
