Peterson's Message- K3 Director
Greetings MCP3 Team!
We did it! We are officially in our last week of school for the 2025-2026 school year! As we head into the week, let's be sure to maintain our excellence, consistency, and joy with our scholars! I am incredibly proud of our team and the hard work everyone has shown this year. Our scholars have come so far and are definitely ready rock K4! You should all be super proud of yourselves.
Staffing Updates & End of Year Farewell Gifts:
As we continue to prepare for the 26-27 school year, it is important to update our team as to staff changes as they come about. Ms. Blevins is moving into an Educational Assistant position as she plans to return to school to pursue her teaching degree. Ms. Stricklin will be moving to be an Educational Assistant in K5 at 38th Street. We are currently interviewing for a lead teacher position and a Social Emotional Support Specialist. Remember to encourage quality candidates to apply online!
All staff should stop by my office this week and add their mark on the farewell gifts we give to staff members that are moving on from MCP3.
Here are some important happenings and reminders:

EOY Classroom Award Ceremonies-6/9
We decided to shift end of year awards to be held the day before completion ceremony so that most students can be recognized and awards can be taken home. This means that classrooms should plan to hold their classroom award ceremonies on Tuesday 6/9 (outside of the scheduled completion ceremony rehearsal time) and awards should go home on that day as well.
Quarter 4 Report Cards
Quarter 4 report cards will go home on Tuesday 6/9 as well along with their end of year awards and portfolios.

Last Day(s) of school expectations and information
Thursday 6/11 is a noon dismissal for all scholars. It is our "Carnival" Day!!! Scholars and staff should plan to wear their end of year t-shirts with appropriate bottoms (jeans/shorts are ok), T-shirts will be distributed to classes next week. Below is the "carnival" schedule for K3!
6/11 & 6/12 are contracted work days for staff. All staff will need to report to work on 6/11 from 7:30-4:00pm and on 6/12 from 8:00-12:00pm. This means that staff are required to be in the building even after classroom checkout. There are tasks that Ms. Perine and I may assign to staff during these hours that are working hours. The afternoon Network Celebration on Friday @ The Summer of '85 from 12:00-4:00pm is optional, but of course I hope to see you all there to represent MCP3!
