Welcome Back, Cavaliers!
A new name, a bold vision — Barnhardt Academy
Get ready for the best year yet!
Welcome Back from The Post
Our name honors the historic Barnhardt Circle and reflects our shared values of Character, Accountability, Vision, and Strength (C.A.V.S.). This change strengthens our connection to the community, preserves our proud Cavalier mascot, and sets the stage for enhanced school spirit, academic growth, and positive student outcomes.
As an independent school, Barnhardt Academy will now have its own accountability measures, increased state funding, and more resources to support our students in grades 6–12. While our mission remains the same—providing structure, support, and a pathway forward for students assigned here—we are ready to embrace this new chapter with pride and purpose.
A Message from the Principal
"At Barnhardt Academy, we are committed to building both the character and potential of every student. Guided by our values of Character, Accountability, Vision, and Strength (C.A.V.S.), we provide a structured, supportive environment where students can learn, grow, and prepare for future success. Together with our staff, families, and community, I look forward to making this year a meaningful and successful chapter in our school’s journey."
-Mr. Barret Blankenship, Principal

LSGT Parent Representative Nominations
Attention Barnhardt Academy Parents:
We are currently accepting nominations for a Parent Representative to serve a 2-year term on our Local School Governance Team. Our LSGT is vital part of our Charter system and works hand in hand with the Principal to provide stakeholder feedback and support for our school. If you would like to nominate a parent to serve in this role—this can be you or another parent of a student at Barnhardt Academy—please use this link. We will collect nominations and send a separate link at a later date to have a final vote.

School Safety at Barnhardt Academy
Everyone Is Responsible For School Safety
Students who see or hear something suspicious have many options when it comes to reporting what they see. Make sure they know they can report to an administrator, a teacher, a school counselor, or an adult they trust. They can also text hello to 741-741. Leaders cannot act on information they don't have so please encourage your student report what they see and hear if it is suspicious or dangerous.
We're better together!
See Something, Say Something
Parents, please help your students understand the importance of being aware of their surroundings.
Please encourage your child to say something if they see or hear something that sounds unsafe or potentially dangerous.
A courageous student willing to report something suspicious can make all the difference. This is something they should practice inside and outside of school to ensure their safety.
