A Message from our Principal, Mrs. Mitchell
Hello families! Here’s hoping you were able to enjoy your Spring Break! The time away is always nice, but of course we loved having students back in the building on Tuesday. During our Professional Development on Monday, our staff engaged in a number of different learning opportunities. Our morning was spent with all district elementary staff as we reviewed Oregon’s updated Social Emotional Learning standards. Then, grade levels spent time collaborating and planning around our new literacy curriculum. In the afternoon, we were back in our home buildings. At Hawks View, we had some amazing discussions about student engagement, strategic planning and how we can finish the year strong. It’s hard to believe there are only two full months of school left!
Parent/Caregiver Experience Survey
As part of our commitment to providing a high level of service to our families and community, we are conducting a survey in partnership with Studer Education. Your feedback will help us determine what is working well at Hawks View and areas for improvement. To maintain confidentiality, Studer Education will manage the data collection and aggregate the data to provide results to Hawks View and District Leadership.
This survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and will remain open until April 21st. Your feedback matters and your time is appreciated!
Thank you!

Grades 3-5 Mason Jar Science - Sign Ups Due
Join Mason Jar Science and explore the world of science! This mini program will allow students to practice their observation and hypothesizing skills and then conduct their own experiments to occasionally take home. Depending on the interest in this program there may be multiple sessions to keep the program size manageable. Permission slips came home in Friday (3/21/25) backpack mail, and are due Friday April 4th. If you do not receive a flyer, you can also view it here.
Dual Language Immersion (DLI) Program - Upcoming Event!

Additionally, you are welcome to join us on Wednesday, April 9th for a DLI Interest & Showcase Night starting at 5pm. The “interest” portion of the evening is from 5:00-5:30. This portion will be both informative and interactive for our families who are curious about the program (bring your incoming kinder student!), and will be held in Room 7. Please enter through the main entrance, which will unlock at 4:50.
The “showcase” will run from 5:30-6:30pm in our cafeteria/commons area and will give families a glimpse into the DLI program from K-4th grades. Please enter through the activity entrance for the showcase. Doors will unlock at 5:25. This evening is for both parents and students!
