Academy Avenue Elementary School

Dear Academy Families & Friends,

What an amazing weekend! We have had a stretch of weather that has surely brought in the feeling of summer, just in time for Memorial Day Weekend. Just a reminder that the parade begins today at 9:30 in Jackson Square today.

• In honor of Memorial Day, we reflect on those members of our community who have fallen in service to our great nation. I want to thank all of our members of the Armed Forces, past, present, and future as well as their families for their sacrifice and devotion our to American freedoms.
• Tomorrow is the K-2 Spring Concert at 10AM.
• This week, our Seniors will be coming home to take the Walk of Honor in our hallways. This is a special group of seniors, as it was my first group of students as principal of Academy.
• Last call for field day volunteers-please use this gForm to sign up.
• Last week, Mrs. Putnam and Mrs. Burke joined our 5th grade classes to prepare them for what's next after Academy. They discussed many of the different schedules and programs Chapman Middle School has to offer. They had lots of their questions answered.
• Last but not least, I am happy to announce that Amy Gaudette will be joining the faculty in the Fall as our Assistant Principal. We are excited that she will. be joining our incredible team of educators!!!

Thank you for your continued support!
