Inside Eminence
Eminence R-1 Community Newsletter May 2026
Congratulations to our 2026 Graduates
A Year of Growth, Progress, and Redwings Pride
As I reflect on my first year serving as Superintendent of the Eminence R-1 School District, I am incredibly proud of what our students, staff, and community have accomplished together. This year has been filled with growth, opportunity, and a continued commitment to ensuring our students have access to high-quality educational experiences while preserving the strong traditions that make our district special.
Throughout the year, we celebrated academic success, student achievements, extracurricular accomplishments, and meaningful community partnerships. Our staff has worked tirelessly to support students both inside and outside the classroom, and I am grateful for the dedication they bring to our schools each day.
One of the highlights of this spring was being awarded the $25,000.00 COOVER Regional Resilience Grant through the Community Foundation of the Ozarks. These funds will help support our "Small School, Big Futures" initiative by providing additional resources and targeted support opportunities for students and families. We were also honored to receive a $1,500.00 Missouri Beef Days grant to assist our Agriculture Department as we relocate and expand our Pumpkin Patch project, continuing to provide hands-on learning opportunities for students.
As we prepare for the future, our district remains focused on growth, innovation, and continuous improvement. Planning for the 2026-2027 school year is already underway, and we are excited about new opportunities that will strengthen academics, student support services, extracurricular programs, and career readiness initiatives for our students.
I am deeply thankful for the support shown by our Board of Education, staff, families, and community throughout this year. It has truly been an honor to serve the Eminence R-1 School District during my first year as superintendent. I look forward to continuing to build strong relationships, celebrating student success, and working together to ensure a bright future for our Redwings!

Congratulations on your Retirement Mrs. Ennis
After years of dedicated service to students, staff, and families of Eminence R-1 School District, we would like to celebrate the retirement of our Elementary Principal, Mrs. Glenda Ennis.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Ennis has worn many hats in our district; serving as a teacher, principal, class sponsor, coach, mentor, and role model to countless students. Her passion for education, commitment to excellence, and love for our school community have left a lasting impact that will not be forgotten.
When asked what she is most looking forward to during retirement, Mrs. Ennis shared: βSpending more quality time with my grandchildren and family making memories that will last a lifetime.β
As she begins this exciting new chapter, she plans to enjoy outdoor adventures including camping, horseback riding, boating, and kayaking. She also hopes to spend time traveling, exploring new places, and even taking to the skies to enjoy the adventure of flying.
Mrs. Ennis, thank you for your years of service, leadership, and dedication to Redwing students and families. We wish you endless happiness, adventure, and well-deserved relaxation in retirement! Congratulations and best wishes on your retirement!
