Athletics
Men's Soccer
Ragsdale Men's Soccer Team secured an exhilarating victory in the first round of the NCHSAA playoffs on Saturday, November 9. The team demonstrated exceptional skill and determination, defeating Mount Tabor High School with a final of 2-1. In a thrilling finish, Ragsdale scored two goals in the last 7 minutes of the match, including the decisive goal by Owen Justice with just under a minute left in regulation. This incredible display of tenacity and skill allowed Ragsdale to secure their spot in the next round of the NCHSAA playoffs, highlighting the hard work and dedication of our talented athletes and coaching staff, led by Coach Braswell.
The Ragsdale men’s varsity soccer team made a thrilling statement in the second round of the NCHSAA playoffs by upsetting the number 4 seed, Watauga High School, with a nail-biting 3-2 victory. This remarkable win showcased the team's resilience and skill, setting the stage for their continued playoff journey. Owen Justice was a standout player, scoring two crucial goals, while Ethan Lam opened the scoring with a spectacular header that set the tone for the match. The team’s determination and teamwork were evident throughout the game.
In the third round of playoffs, they lost a hard fought game at home in less than ideal weather. We are so proud of the run the team made in the playoffs. Congratulations to both the players and Coach Braswell for a spectacular season!
