Message from the Principal

Greetings Findley Community~

While we honor all our Findley Staff during Teacher Appreciation Week in May, March 2–6 is Classified Appreciation Week. We are fortunate to have an incredible classified staff! 🌟

At Findley, our classified employees are the "magic behind the curtain." They support our students, families, and staff in countless ways, ensuring our school runs smoothly every single day. We couldn't do it without them! Office, Cafeteria, Custodial, Para Educators, Library, STEAM, and Tech Support.

Please help us next week in honoring and recognizing the countless ways our Classified Staff here at Findley contribute to our school community.

With Gratitude,

Sherry Marsh, Ed.D

Special shoutout to the Nature Novelists as this year's Top Contenders, and The Rainbow Fire Kittens for Best Sportsmanship.

Hygiene Drive to support BSD McKinney/Vento Program

The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act is a law that helps children whose families are having a hard time finding a stable place to live. It makes sure those kids can keep going to school, stay in the same school if possible, and get help with things like transportation and school supplies so they can keep learning and feel supported.

Here's how you can help ~ Dragon Riders will be collecting donations for the next 2 weeks. Please bring all donated items to school and place them on the benches by the display case or you can give them to the Dragon Riders at car drop off. Thank you for your support of this important program!

Hi Findley Families,

We’re excited to invite your 3rd–5th grader to join the Spring Session of Next Generation Enrichment Club at Findley Elementary.

This is all about helping kids build real-world skills while doing something that matters. This spring, students will design and create Kindness Kits for members of our community who could use extra support.

What students will learn (hands-on):

  • Marketing: how to share an idea and get others excited about it

  • Purchasing: choosing supplies and making smart decisions with a budget

  • Production: organizing, assembling, and improving the kits

  • Distribution: planning how items get delivered and who they will help

Spring Session Details

  • Who: Students in Grades 3–5

  • When: Wednesdays, right after school

  • Time: 3:00–4:00 PM

  • Start Date: Wednesday, April 1

  • Where: Room 201

  • How it works: Students go directly from class to the club

If your student likes creating, building, organizing, helping others, or learning how things work behind the scenes, this will be a great fit. They’ll leave with stronger teamwork and leadership skills, plus the pride of knowing they made a real impact.

Ready to join?

Sign up your student for the Spring Session using the registration link below.

BSD Math Advancement Testing for 5th Grade Families

The vast majority of BSD students enroll in middle school math without skipping a course. But a small number of students every year believe that they already know the math that will be taught next year. If this is true for your student you may request an advancement test to see if they are eligible to skip a full year or more of math and enroll in a more advanced course.

Advancement Testing covers next year's math content and is most appropriate for students who believe they are ready to skip a full year or more of math instruction. If you would like your student to take an advancement test to determine if skipping one or two years of math instruction would be appropriate instead, please see the BSD Math Advancement Testing site to request testing by April 15th.

All testing will take place in early May at your student’s school during their school day. There will be no testing for current students after May. If you have any questions, please refer to the FAQ on the BSD Math Advancement Testing site.

🛑Parking Lot Reminders - We need your help! 🚘

Please remember:

  • Max speed anywhere in the parking lot is 10-15 mph - please be sure you are following this expectation at all times.
  • Please pull as far forward as you can before allowing your child to get out of the car. This helps us keep the line moving smoothly.
  • During arrival ~ Students should not exit on the driver's side of the car. If your child cannot exit on the passenger side please park and walk them to the crosswalk.
  • During arrival ~ Please walk your child to the crosswalk - students should not be walking through the parking lot without an adult.
  • At dismissal ~ Students are not allowed to enter the parking lot without an adult.

Thank you for helping us keep all our Findley Dragons safe!💜

Sparky's Steps to Safety

Sparky invites you to show our community that a safe crossing is the best crossing. Follow the footprints to designated street corners and avoid crossing midblock. Teach others how to stay safe while walking to and from school.
