Dear Parents and Carers,

It’s hard to believe we are heading into the final full week of the academic year. This past week has been filled with achievements, celebrations and exciting events for our pupils.

This Week This Week

Attendance Award - Birds of Prey Experience

On Monday afternoon, our Attendance Award Winners enjoyed a very special experience with KL Falconry who brought a variety of birds of prey into school. The children had the chance to learn about the birds, watch them in flight and even get up close with some of them. It was a wonderful reward for excellent attendance.

KS2 SAT's

On Tuesday morning, we received our Key Stage 2 SATs results. We are delighted and incredibly proud to share that these are the highest outcomes Larks Hill has ever achieved. The results are likely to place us as one of the highest performing schools in the region, and potentially within the top 1% of schools nationally for attainment. A huge well done to our Year 6 pupils who have worked so hard all year. I would like to extend my thanks, once again, to all staff who have been involved in teaching these pupils over the years - for supporting throughout the year with SAT's boosters and for supporting with the final assessments. Thank you also to all parents and carers of these pupils for your unwavering support throughout the year.

Summer Fair

On Tuesday the afternoon, we held our annual Summer Fair, which was a great success. Every class contributed by running their own stalls, and it was lovely to see so many families in attendance. We are thrilled to share that we raised £834 - thank you very much to everyone, including our parent helpers, who came along and supported the event.

School Fundraising

In recent weeks we have used some of the school funds raised to purchase a new boom box so we can play music outside and we have also bought a new sound system for the hall. This will enable us to continue to put on our high-quality productions and support in our singing assemblies. Thank you as ever, for your generous contributions.

Year 4 Visit to CHS

On Wednesday morning, Year 4 visited Carleton High School to watch their fantastic performance of Little Shop of Horrors. The children were thoroughly impressed, especially as they spotted some of our ex-pupils on stage!

Year 6 Performance

That afternoon and evening, we were treated to two outstanding performances of the Year 6 production of Peter Pan. Our Year 6s showcased their incredible talents in acting, singing and musical performance, complete with some comedy too! Thank you to Mr Reynolds and Mrs Smith who produced one of the best end of year performances we have ever seen and thank you to all parents and carers who supported with costumes and came along to watch the performances. What a way to end an amazing final year in Primary.

Year 3 Guitar Concert

On Thursday, our Year 3 pupils performed in their Guitar Concert, led by Mrs Atack. After a full year of weekly lessons, it was wonderful to see the progress the children have made. Their performance was confident, musical and very much enjoyed by those who were able to come and watch.

Year 6 Leavers Trip

To end the week, today, Year 6 celebrated their excellent results and their hard work across the year with a trip to Bridlington. They had a fantastic day enjoying the beach, paddling in the sea, sharing fish and chips, and picking up souvenirs - a well-deserved celebration!.
