Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment
K-8 Math Curricular Resource Pilot
This school year, our kindergarten through 8th grade students will take part in a mathematics resource pilot to help inform the selection of new instructional materials. Students will have the opportunity to experience two high-quality math resources at different points during the school year.
The purpose of the pilot is to explore instructional materials and gather feedback about how well each program supports student learning and high-quality mathematics instruction. Throughout the pilot, students will continue to receive instruction aligned to grade-level mathematics standards. All students will receive instruction in a logical sequence that includes all grade-level standards.
Pilot Schedule
- Pilot 1: i-Ready Classroom Mathematics (October–December)
- Pilot 2: Eureka Math² (January–March)
This pilot is being coordinated through the Niles Township D219 Collaborative for Curriculum (CFC), with participating teachers and students from Skokie School District 73.5, Golf School District 67, and Skokie/Morton Grove School District 69.
Through this collaborative process, we are committed to identifying high-quality mathematics materials that support student understanding, problem solving, mathematical reasoning, and preparation for high school mathematics.
We look forward to learning from our students’ and teachers’ experiences as they engage with each resource. Their feedback will be an important part of the curriculum review and selection process.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we work to strengthen mathematics learning for our students.
