ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL PROCESS

PLEASE WATCH : VIDEO OF TRAFFIC PATTERN

Dismissal is one of the busiest times of our day, and we rely on your partnership to keep it safe, efficient, and stress-free for everyone.

Recently, we've seen an increase in early arrivals lining up on Pines Boulevard. While this may seem like a way to shorten your wait, our time studies show the opposite. Early arrivals create safety risks, slow traffic, and extend dismissal time for all families.

🚗 Correct Arrival Times:

  • K–5th Grade Dismissal: Earliest arrival at 2:00 PM
  • 6th–8th Grade Dismissal: Earliest arrival at 3:00 PM

This policy has been in place for several academic years. Arriving early does not speed up the process—it diverts staff from supervising students to managing traffic, and increases safety concerns on Pines Blvd., a busy six-lane road.

📊 Shortest Wait Times:

  • 2:30–2:40 PM for K–5 dismissal
  • 3:30–3:40 PM for 6–8 dismissal

Franklin Academy is proud to be a good neighbor in Pembroke Pines. Your cooperation helps us maintain a safe and smooth dismissal for all.

All car riders must use DashPass for dismissal. Please make sure you have downloaded the app and have it open on your phone when you arrive on campus. You must also place your dashboard placard on the passenger side dashboard to help us quickly identify your vehicle and expedite the process. We cannot release your child unless DashPass is active and visible. Thank you for helping us keep dismissal safe and efficient!

Bus passes have been sent electronically to eligible families.

Check your email and print the pass to send with your child.

Important:

  • If your child’s bus pass has not been issued, they will not be permitted to ride the bus.

  • In that case, you must arrange alternate transportation.

  • Bus transportation will only be approved as a Way Home method if your child’s name appears on the official bus roster.

Students must live within 0–2 miles of campus to qualify as a walker or biker. If you selected “walker” or “biker” on your Way Home Form, we will only release your child to walk if:

  • The address has been verified.

  • The Way Home Form has been approved.

Please check your PowerSchool Parent Portal before dismissal to confirm approval. If your child’s status is not approved, you must arrange alternate transportation.

Franklin Academy is a mandatory uniform school, and our dress code is strictly enforced to ensure consistency, equity, and safety. All uniforms must be purchased from our approved vendor, iUniforms. Clothing that is torn, frayed, or tattered is not permitted.

Please label all uniform pieces with your child’s name. For Kindergarten and First Grade students, we recommend keeping an extra set of clothes in a labeled Ziploc bag with the classroom teacher for emergencies.

If your child’s uniform order is on backorder or has not yet arrived, they may wear navy bottoms with a Franklin-colored polo until their uniforms are delivered:

  • Elementary: Light blue or light yellow polo

  • MYP: Navy or white polo

A copy of your paid receipt must be placed in your child’s backpack while you await delivery to avoid disciplinary action. Uniforms can be purchased online through our vendor.
